La Brusca In Modena

First i was going to give this place 3 stars but now 5 stars minimum. We came around 12:45 and it was empty. The staff was quick to make us a table that fit all 5 of us. I ordered chicken and potatoes. First when the food came it looked like it had been in the microwave. It didn't have salt at all and overall the food experience was not too good. The thing that makes me give this place 5 stars is... I'm homesick. I have missed my mom this past week of our Italy trip and being in another culture doesn't give me the feeling of home. The food in this place though, it felt like i was 15 again sitting in my moms kitchen eating leftovers from yesterday. Nothing fancy and lacked seasoning but keeps you full. No kidding I almost started crying sitting there eating. Thanks to this small restaurant I got to experience home again. Big plus was also that it is very cheap. And the decorations were 10/10. Toilet also SUPER clean!

We returned for the second time because we had such a great experience, both in terms of hospitality and food. The place is always very quiet, and the owner is extremely kind and friendly. The tigelle were particularly good, and the platter of cured meats was plentiful!

Great experience! The place is small but pleasant and, above all, pleasantly quiet; you don't have to shout like in other restaurants to make yourself heard... The braised beef in Barolo and the chicken wings/thighs were very good, both with sides included and generous portions. The lemon cake was excellent. And finally, the prices: more than fair. Congratulations, we'll definitely be back. 😁

We ate very well, the place was very nice and welcoming, very quiet and the service was top notch, I recommend the scallops with balsamic vinegar, EXCELLENT

Discovered by chance on a cold Monday, we found a warm and welcoming little osteria. The cured meats and soups are excellent, with such generous portions that we'll be back soon to try what we couldn't stomach tonight!

If I had to describe Modena through an osteria, I'd definitely mention this one. Warm and welcoming, yet unobtrusive, you'll feel right at home even if you've never been to the city! I believe, but I could be wrong, that it's the only place in the city center that offers so many vegetarian options on the menu, in addition to typical local dishes, all of which are also rooted in tradition. I tried some soups and a delicious pasta with beans. It's suitable for both private and group lunches, with a very relaxing atmosphere, excellent service, and affordable prices.

Welcoming place, friendly and helpful staff. Excellent traditional food. €20 for a charcuterie board for two, a first course, and a Coke. Honest and satisfying.
