We had a wonderful time. The owners were welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The food was excellent. Classic platter with cold cuts, cheeses, and pickles. Tripe with lampredotto and Maremma-style snails. We finished with a tasting of biscuits, bitters, and holy water! Top!

The food was average, and the prices were in line with other similar establishments. The lady was very cheerful and welcoming, while the gentleman seemed more reserved. Overall, the service was quick and orderly. If I were to return to the area, I would probably choose another place.

A casual little place that focuses on the quality and authenticity of the products served, especially the local produce. The owners are very friendly and approachable, and we discovered they're longtime locals who had the courage to move from northern Italy to Grosseto and start over. Platters, lampredotto, soups... Everything is delicious, not to mention the selection of wines and spirits. And if you still have cravings after your vacation, there's even a website where you can buy their delicacies. If you're vacationing in this area, stop here; you won't regret it... Highly recommended!

The place is very simple and spartan, but the food is excellent and reasonably priced. Since we went on a weekday evening, the owner took the time to explain his products to us. Recommended.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! We ate homemade ribollita and a lampredotto sandwich and drank sublime Ciliegiolo wine! I bought cantuccini and wine! The owners are wonderful, welcoming people!

PizzOsteria La Colonia

07/01/2026: Walter and Fiorella are extremely kind, and the food is simple but excellent. I especially recommend the wild boar with chestnuts and pine nuts. Superb!
06/01/2026: Pizzeria-restaurant near the highway exit with good parking (we parked with two campers and there were plenty of cars). Nice and clean atmosphere, excellent service, and reasonable prices. Excellent.

Da Caino

12/10/2025: 🇮🇹 Caino - Caino 🌟🌟 2 MICHELIN Stars 🍴 Tuscan, Contemporary - Contemporary Italian cuisine from Tuscany. 🎗️ In today's article, we'll take you to one of the world's most renowned restaurants, run by a talented female chef. Nestled in the tranquil village of Montemerano in Tuscany, this restaurant is steeped in medieval charm. Nestled within a simple yet beautiful ancient stone house, this restaurant is a gem waiting to be discovered by foodies. 🎗️ Montemerano is one of the most picturesque villages in Tuscany, located in the Manciano district in the southern Grosseto province, near the renowned Saturnia hot springs. The village is characterized by its perfectly preserved medieval atmosphere, complete with cobblestone streets, ancient houses, and a tranquil atmosphere. Not far from Piazza del Castello lies Caino, a 🌟🌟 2 MICHELIN-starred restaurant that’s a must-see for foodies and travelers alike. The two-hour drive from Rome, winding around the towering mountains, brings this small village to a close. Da Caino’s history dates back to 1971, when founder Angela Fronteddu decided to open a small restaurant specializing in homemade Tuscan-style Italian cuisine, particularly traditional dishes like Pici pasta, Cinghiale (wild boar) and dishes using local Montemerano ingredients. Around the 1980s, the restaurant evolved its menu and revamped its image to be more luxurious and creative. Located in an ancient stone house in the heart of Montemerano village, the restaurant is decorated in a rustic style, exuding a sense of elegance and simplicity, evident in the stone walls, antique wooden furniture, and crisp white tablecloths, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere. The restaurant’s small, divided dining area creates a quiet and private atmosphere. There's also a wine cellar featuring a selection of the finest wines from Tuscany and around the world. 📃 BIG TASTING MENU "IDEAS IN MOTION" (240 €) "Traveling with the colors of winter and the richness of their flavors" Cauliflower and tangerine Marinated wild boar and Jerusalem artichoke Cavatelli pasta flavored with sage, sea urchin, sundried tomato, and cuttlefish Chestnut and wild pigeon ravioli Angel hair pasta in mushroom stock with grilled skirt steak Purple cabbage and peanuts Lamb, endive, dates, and cumin Or Duck "à l'orange" Fennel and pommegranate Hazelnuts and truffle Coffee Torrefazione Giamaica Caffè (7 €) 📃 SUBSTITUTION Buttons pasta stuffed with potatoes served with black truffle and hazelnuts Orange and olive oil emulsion served with goat milk ice cream 📌 Score: 👍 A superb Tuscan-style Italian restaurant that presents local ingredients in an interesting, contemporary style. Culinary Skills & Flavors: 16.5/20 Wines: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Value for Money: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Technique: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chef's Identity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ambience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📍 Visit: Mar 2025 🚗 Parking: Parking outside the ZTL zone 🕧 Operating Hours: Lunch Sat-Sun 12:30-14:30, Dinner Thu-Mon 19:30-21:30, Closed on Tue-Wed 💰 Price: 190-240 € 🧥 Dress Code: Smart Casual
29/09/2025: It's worth opening the rather inconspicuous little door. Behind it, you'll find bright rooms and an excellent kitchen, complete with a wine cellar, and friendly, competent, yet unobtrusive service from the chef himself. A truly positive experience in every respect.
