Veniamo catapultati, grazie ad una famiglia locale che ci ospita, in questo vortice di fine anni '80. Bottiglie di Valentini esposte in fila, poster di cene sociali attaccate alle pareti. Il locale ben presto si popola di individui di tutte le età. La figlia del titolare ci prende l'ordine, ma arrivano cose anche extra: peperoni e uova, pallotte cacio e ova, misticanza strascinata con fagioli del posto, formaggio fritto e... Fegato con cipolle. Mai mangiato così buono. L'antipasto vale la sosta, se non fosse che, per continuare, abbiamo optato per due paste della casa (fatevi consigliare) e una grigliata di agnello. Il servizio è ancora con il gueridon, con la massima attenzione e cordialità e il proprietario è davvero un tipo da conoscere! Una sosta che ricorderò perché la porto nel cuore e che mi ha fatto scoprire la vera cucina e accoglienza abruzzese.

17/09/2025: On Sunday, five of us went to lunch at the new Scaricarello a 4 vele. The place was half-empty. We sat down at 1:00 PM, and the first courses arrived at a quarter to 3:00 PM. During the hour and three-quarter wait, we ate the bruschetta we ordered (very good, but it took 45 minutes for it to arrive, and we had to order it three times: the first two times, they'd lost the order) and drank the wrong wine (we ordered one bottle, and another arrived—we didn't ask for a change, fearing we'd have to wait an hour). During the nearly two-hour wait for our first courses, besides drinking wine and hopefully staring at the kitchen in the back of the restaurant, we also witnessed a couple of incorrect orders, meaning waiters came to our table with dishes ordered by other tables. The problem, then, is clearly in the kitchen: the restaurant can't efficiently manage such an extensive menu (from 100 Abruzzo-style first courses to fish dishes, meat main courses, and numerous appetizers with various platters), and in fact the only thing that arrives quickly is dessert, because it's already ready. It's strange to be in a restaurant at lunchtime and see that almost no one is eating because everyone is waiting! It's a shame because the dishes were good; the first courses were really well cooked, and the second courses looked tasty too. In short, the talent is there, but the skill is lacking. Let's hope they improve... I wouldn't go back now; no one wants to wait two hours for a plate of pasta, no matter how good it is.

13/09/2025: A tavern serving traditional dishes. They don't have fish on the menu, and when I ate there, they didn't even offer fruit. The ingredients are good quality and the prices are reasonable. A family atmosphere.
05/09/2025: I went in early August for an intimate dinner. What struck me about this restaurant was the atmosphere of old Pescara, with its brick house and centuries-old pine trees. The kitchen and open-plan wine cellar were beautiful. I understand that some evenings can go awry, but not when they happen carelessly. The only two waiters were visibly exhausted and inexperienced, incapable of dealing with customers and completely in a daze. Instead of a clear "We're very sorry, but please be patient," we always received a "yes" to every request, which then promptly went unheeded, making us feel like idiots. It took 15 minutes to order, then about 45 minutes to get the first course. Throughout all this, the person I assume was the manager remained seated at the cash register, only getting up to go to our neighbors, who also had some complaints to make, justifying the loss of an order instead of simply apologizing. Overall, it was good, but I didn't like the management in general.
