08/06/2025: un'infinità di dolci pane e brioches, molto buone e grandi. personale cortese e disponibile
02/06/2025: Who would have thought that, in the middle of the industrial area - where you usually go only to get your car serviced - there is a small weekend sanctuary hidden? And yet Il Pane Quotidiano is there, punctual like the 8am coffee and the 11am blood sugar.
Easy to reach by car, and miraculously parkable - yes, even right in front of the entrance, especially if you convince yourself that on Sundays (or holidays) the bus doesn't pass even under threat. It's not true, but this lie puts your soul at peace. That alone is worth half an extra star.
When the sun does its job and the bora takes a break, the outdoor terrace fills up as if for a spontaneous pilgrimage of caffeine devotees: wholemeal brioches for those who feel virtuous, sweet and with cream for those who have made peace with cholesterol, savory for those who are already on their second coffee and look at the clock with a brunch eye.
Towards evening, the scene changes with theatrical grace: the coffees remain, but the large cups suddenly turn neon orange — aka Spritz Aperol — while the purists sip a clean white or spritzino, with the eyes of connoisseurs and the souls of Friday bakers.
And then, as in every good liturgy, comes the final offering: the still-warm sandwich to take home. For those who didn’t come, for the neighbor, or for themselves. To be eaten naked (the sandwich, eh), still crunchy, with that scent that smells of childhood, happiness and better times.
There is no table service - but it is compensated by an efficient bar and honest do-it-yourself water.
Bread. Everyday. And yet miraculously special.
