Kerala In Roma

A great spot to enjoy authentic Kerala dishes—we had both breakfast and lunch here during our visit to Rome. It’s easily accessible, with a nearby metro station and bus stop, and offers excellent value for money.

We stopped by on a late evening and honestly, it exceeded all expectations. Kunjumon and Nisha, the owners, are incredibly warm and welcoming — the kind of hosts that make you feel right at home. We ordered the chicken biryani, fish curry meals, porotta, and beef, and everything was delicious. Don’t miss their house-made pickle either — it came on the side and was honestly one of the best things on the table. The meal was great, but what made the visit really memorable was the conversation. Having lived in Rome for years, they pointed us toward some hidden gems around the city that we’d never have discovered on our own. Every recommendation was spot on. Visiting the Colosseum at night was one of them — something we’d never have thought to do ourselves — and it ended up being a highlight of our whole trip. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Rome. Highly recommend!

amazing dosa just a short walk from the Colosseum

From the very first visit, I was impressed by the incredible taste and quality of the food. Every dish is rich in flavor, perfectly spiced, and feels just like a homemade meal from Kerala. Whether it’s the aromatic biryani, the delicious curries, or the freshly made breads, everything is prepared with great care and authenticity.

First time I had chicken curry with bones... The atmosphere is more of a canteen than a restaurant. The presentation is also canteen-style. But the price matches the quality.

Visited this while in Rome. It is an authentic Kerala restaurant if you’re craving true Kerala flavours. Best to try: kappa and fish curry, ellum kappayum, and meals.

Food was very fabulous and good option for South Indian cuisine.

The food at Keralam was fantastic! We had veg Thali, masala Dosa, medhu vada, paruppu vada and uthappam. Service by Jobi was excellent. Portion size was big and the price was cheap for such great food. Highly recommend the food here. This is not the place to go for ambience. However, if you are looking for authentic south Indian food in Rome that is cheap, this is an excellent place. Thali at 7 Euros came with a good portion of rice, 2 sundal varieties, 1 kootu, sambar and rasam. Every dish tasted great. We got food for the evening as well. We also came back the next day and packed food for our trip.
