A restaurant located on the main street of Campagnano di Roma, much talked about in the northern area, having received several awards for quality. I usually eat here during the week when I can because it's quieter; I honestly can't imagine how crowded it is on weekends. I've tried their dishes at this restaurant many times, always leaving satisfied. Once I ordered excellent cappellacci for a first course, very good cod for a second course, and of course the inevitable mixed fried fish for an appetizer. Another time, however, we ordered fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, which were good but nothing special (I think they were frozen porcini mushrooms), and for a second course, the roasted porcini mushrooms were excellent and fresh (the only downside for me, as I don't tolerate them very well, is the truly excessive amount of garlic). And I always forgot about the excellent and very famous fried fish for an appetizer (including the ever-present fried pear, very delicious). The wine is excellent even in bulk, if I remember correctly; the owner told me it's sulfites-free and sourced from a trusted producer. My companion also ordered the dessert, which was good, but I didn't try it; I prefer savory dishes. I'll definitely be back, as I always leave this restaurant satisfied. Prices are moderately high for a small-town osteria.

A charming village and a quaint restaurant. Excellent service from a truly kind and charming lady. The food was excellent for what we tried, and the ingredients were of excellent quality. The price is very fair, and it's worth a stop.

A small but warm and welcoming place. I tried almost everything except the first courses (which I'd love to return for). For appetizers, we had mixed fried fish (original with unusual ingredients like pears, for example) and a portion of fried artichokes, all truly delicious. Followed by three different main courses with side dishes. My dish, prawns cooked like saltimbocca saltimbocca a la Romana (wrapped in prosciutto and sage), was very good, perhaps just a bit too salty. Among the desserts, I strongly advise against the tiramisu, more for the chestnuts than for the fact that it's definitely made with cream, but the semifreddo was good. The coffee is truly special, but they don't have decaf. There were certainly only a few staff serving, which made things a bit slower, but their friendliness made up for it. For all this, plus liqueurs and a liter of white wine, we paid €42 each.

A modern osteria serving both traditional dishes and slightly revisited ones. Simple and friendly service. I'd say it's definitely a great place to try.

Fantastic local restaurant in a cute, quiet town outside of Rome. Osteria Lotto champions Slow Food etiquette so expect local, fresh ingredients, a seasonal menu with regular changes, and top notch service.
We had a great meal here. Ordered a pasta, seafood dish, and meat dish, paired with wine and beer, and finished with two desserts. It was delicious and each plate / drink complemented each other well. Entire meal was €65 for two people.
Highly recommend and would come back.

How do I describe this restaurant? Maybe, local flavors leveled up. I appreciate an Italian restaurant willing to give it a twist! Classic fiori di zucca, nicely cooked, not too oily, well combined flavors. No firsts, straight to seconds although we will return to try the ravioli stuffed with tongue! Instead, we tried polpette and messicana della picchiapò. The polpette were breaded and pan-fried which was unexpected but not bad. The flavors were there, but a bit dry. I wished for a little bit of red sauce or a special house sauce?? The picchiapò was fantastic. Very flavorful and I'd say "off the beaten path" for Roman cuisine. We also had oven-baked porcini mushrooms which were top for us! And cicoria, always a win. Dessert was our least favorite, the best option being a soft cake with lemon curd. But a good coffee cleared our pallets. Service was exceptional, the owner was very thorough and friendly. Okay timing. The wine choices are interesting, many bio as indicated in other reviews, but they match nicely with the food. Overall we are satisfied and recommend. And we will be back, we want to try more! The baccala sounds amazing and we love that they often change the menu (for seasonal freshness). This little town is adorable and this little osteria is a local gem.
