07/12/2025: Excellent food, reserved seating for our reservation, helpful staff.
Charming atmosphere and traditional Tuscan food.
Highly recommended if you want to try a typical Pisan restaurant!
30/11/2025: A restaurant with a quiet atmosphere, organized into two rooms with rustic-looking wooden tables.
The appetizers were simple but delicious: a sort of panzanella with stale bread, potatoes, beans, carrots, zucchini, etc., a "pomodorata" (a spicy tomato sauce), some crostini (livers, cream cheese, etc.), and some cold cuts. It's a shame there's no good prosciutto!
The first courses are noteworthy: the pappardelle with wild boar ragù was very good, a generous portion, plenty of sauce, and a few olives to break up the repetitiveness of the ragù.
As for the second courses, we tried a slice of meat, probably sirloin or fillet, and some roast potatoes. The meat was certainly good, but overcooked, making it a bit tougher than it should be.
The wine was good; we chose a Sangiovese, with a nice fruity aroma, medium structure, and not too tannic, quite fresh and clean.
Overall, we spent €35, a fair price for the quality and quantity of what we ate and drank.
Sidenotes: The water is served in reusable bottles, so you often see some wine residue floating in the bottle. I would recommend cleaning the bottles better, as at first glance it might seem like there are impurities in the water.
