Went here in search of a tapas style restaurant (smaller portions of different food items to get a good variety) and was let down by the experience. Everything pictured was just over 50 euros and I would say it was not worth the price because we both left still hungry. We came for dinner at around 6pm and at that point it was clear that most of the good dishes were already sold out, so options were limited. They also had very little variety for vegetarians. The wait staff was friendly, but if you are feeling hungry and in search of something to fill you up, probably treat this restaurant as a good way to eat some (expensive) appetizers before heading to your actual dinner. Also, the tables for 2 outside were completely poor design and forks were slipping through the slats and falling on the ground.

The bacaro is very cute because it has a small, beautiful internal courtyard, but we were unlucky because the variety of cicheti was very limited and the two people at the counter were very nervous and unhelpful. It's a real shame, but it was probably a difficult moment for the management during this summer period.

I know many of Bacari in Venice, but the wines you drink here are special and Anna and Alvise make them even more pleasant! This is not one of the many stops on a bacaro tour but a destination

Very welcoming place, friendly staff. Good aperitifs and cicchetti and praise for the background music, which I found really pleasant. The location, away from crowded routes, makes it the ideal place for a moment of relaxation and to discover the real Venice.

Bottle of wine and 6 shots. The wine is certainly very good (a bottle of Alami)... Venetian cicchetti however absolutely insufficient in terms of price and quality

04/09/2025: I was looking forward to this place after watching “Somebody Feed Phil”. The pork chop is heavily overpriced in my opinion. 70 euro is no joke, granted it can feed a party of 4 rather easily. If you can get past the insanely strong vinegar smell and taste. When they first put the plate down your eyes will water from how strong the vinegar smell just smacks every corner of your nose. The pork chop itself gives your brain mixed signals that it’s going to be crispy, considering this just came out the kitchen, nope. It’s soggy as can be. We had the tagliatelle and it was good. Not something to write home about compared to other places in Italy but also not Olive Garden bad. Overall you can for sure skip this place unless you’re a big fan of pork chops. When you ask for it to go they put it in a bag. Not a box that goes inside a bag, just pork chop bag.
29/08/2025: Definitely go here! The pork chop is off the charts. You have to like vinegar and we do. It was also huge - could easily be the main course for at least 3 people. We also enjoyed the radicchio pasta. The starters were a miss for us as was the tiramisu. The tiramisu was mainly just the cream portion and while it was very tasty (would have been great with berries) there wasn’t enough ladyfingers or coffee flavor for us. They were very welcoming, the restaurant was busy but everyone checked in on us through the meal.

A Casa Vecia

29/05/2025: I have been to "A Casa Vecia" in Moniego and I really liked it. The place is nice and welcoming, although unfortunately there is no parking and you have to make do a bit in the surroundings. I had a hamburger and it was really good, with tasty and well-cooked meat. The menu is unique and also offers ostrich, zebra and other exotic meats, something that you can't find everywhere. The prices are excellent, especially considering the quality and originality of the dishes. The service is simple but kind, everything flows without problems. Overall, a nice experience: I will gladly return and I recommend it to anyone who wants to try something different.
17/04/2025: Excellent quality meat cooked with care but in my opinion small portions... anyway everything is ok in terms of service and environment... good and organised...
