Better to go somewhere else. A spritz costs €8 for just the drink, I mean. The bartender is incredibly rude... she needs to change jobs. Too bad for the tourists... they didn't even have still water. A year later, I've decided to change my initial opinion. I'm so sorry to sound like a bad person... it's not fair. But it's definitely a place with a lot of room for improvement... I hope you'll think about it.

We had some great beers, but the service was terrible. The blonde waitress was rude, very impolite, and unpleasant. There was hardly anyone inside, it took ages to serve us, and the music was so loud you could barely speak.

A mixed bag – nice spot, great owner, but watch out at night. Il Tanamana is in a great location right by the ferry port in Menaggio, and at first glance, it really does seem like the perfect spot to unwind. The drinks were strong (maybe too strong 😂), the vibe during the day was relaxed, and the owner was genuinely lovely — warm, welcoming, and even stepped in to kick out a drunk local who started harassing me. Massive respect for that. Unfortunately, the problems started when the sun went down. On two separate nights, I had issues with different locals — both clearly intoxicated and both aggressive. One guy was giving me grief unprovoked, and the next night I was being called slurs in Italian and getting flipped off by a stranger… on my 10-year anniversary with my partner, no less. Really classy stuff. Honestly, he was lucky I chose not to react. To be clear: this isn’t the bar’s fault. The owner handled things as best he could. But tourists should be aware — after dark, some of the local drinkers in this area seem to have a real issue with outsiders. It’s disappointing, especially in such a beautiful town. Prices were on the higher side, but so is everything in Menaggio — it’s a tourist hotspot, so that’s expected. Just know what you’re getting into if you stop by in the evening: decent drinks, good staff… but sadly, a risk of unpleasant encounters.

We were tempted to use it because we had to wait for a ferry. The place is not very charming, and the construction work going on nearby does not help. However, we ate the tastiest pizza in Italy there! We were very surprised by the taste, the sauce made of real tomatoes, the amount of toppings and the quality of the dough. We recommend it with a clear conscience. We will definitely come back on our next visit.

Had a couple of cappuccinos (no food) while waiting for the ferry right next door. Great cappuccinos and excellent service. 4 stars for atmosphere purely because the dock was in repair and changed the view a bit.
