This pizzeria is definitely an alternative to the usual Roman pizza. Il secchi e l'olivaro is an institution for me. I've followed its evolution since it first opened on Via Portuense. Today, the variety of flavors has increased, so there's much more choice (plus, there's always something interesting off-menu). It's a source of pride when out-of-town friends (Italians and foreigners) come to visit. There's also an incredible selection of bruschetta. Before your pizza, perhaps while sipping a cocktail or beer, I recommend the homemade chips sprinkled with pecorino romano.

Neighborhood pizzeria and restaurant where you can spend a pleasant evening with friends and even watch the games. Pizza is different from the usual, cooked in a pan, and there's also a selection of gluten-free pizzas, such as the fried pizza, all homemade with top-quality ingredients, along with bruschetta, also available in both regular and gluten-free versions, and delicious desserts prepared daily. Come and try it, and if there's a wait, relax with an aperitif. PS: Now open for lunch with a first-class set menu.
