Located near the historic center of Ascoli Piceno, the restaurant is a good example of excellent family management and protection of the local gastronomic heritage! The restaurant has tables both indoors and outdoors! I was very impressed by the great sense of hospitality shown by the owners (I was passing by and had not booked for lunch this Sunday) and by the traditional cuisine with genuine ingredients: olives all'ascolana with cremini, local cured meats appetizer, truffle crepes, gnocchi with porcini mushrooms, mutton stew! Excellent level of cuisine and great professionalism-speed of service: 5 stars with honors! I highly recommend it to anyone who is in the area!

Cozy restaurant, friendly staff, family atmosphere, good food

I have never, and I stress NEVER, eaten as well as in this restaurant. All the 5 senses we have have found here that harmony worthy of a Verdi symphony. Let's face it: if there is love in what you do, it comes like an arrow aimed directly at the heart! Let's start with a series of varied appetizers, including croutons and cured meats of their own production accompanied by a delicious sweet and sour, almost fermented, cabbage, excellent for refreshing the palate. We continue with first courses of various kinds, chosen by us. Breathtaking. But the real surprise was the grilled meat, the mutton, the lamb... god! I had forgotten the true taste of authenticity. If I didn't live two hours away from Ascoli Piceno, I would come here EVERY DAY. Also worth trying because here, the smile is free for everyone. Thanks to the staff for the unforgettable experience 😃

First visit to this historic venue for dinner.. What can I say! I was pleasantly impressed by the environment, the service and above all the food. It all evokes a genuine, homely atmosphere, with traditional dishes and easy-going, spontaneous service!

Day in Ascoli, we found this place where the owner welcomed us and seated us even without having booked! Cozy place, friendly and helpful staff.......very nice. Starters, first and second courses all with local raw materials (km0) all good with an average quality/price ratio!! COMPLIMENTS.

Durante una passeggiata nel centro di Ascoli Piceno, sempre affascinante da visitare, abbiamo deciso di cenare presso Il Ruspante, approfittando dell’occasione per scoprire la nuova sede del ristorante, trasferitosi ormai da tempo da Roccafluvione al cuore di Ascoli. La prenotazione è stata necessaria e, una volta arrivati, siamo rimasti colpiti dalla location curata, con un grazioso giardino esterno che immaginiamo sia perfetto per cenare all’aperto nella stagione estiva. All’ingresso siamo stati accolti con grande cortesia dal personale di sala, che ci ha subito fatto accomodare e servito dell’acqua, preparandoci all’arrivo degli antipasti. Tuttavia, un dettaglio ci ha lasciato un po’ spiazzati: il locale non presenta un menù alla carta e non ci è stato specificato in anticipo che il format del ristorante prevede un menù fisso comprensivo di antipasti, primo, secondo e dolci. Questo è un punto che consigliamo di migliorare, avvisando il cliente già al momento della prenotazione per maggiore chiarezza. Tuttavia il ristorante presenta un menù fisso molto vario e di qualità. Gli antipasti sono stati un ottimo inizio: un tagliere di salumi misti, una gustosa crepe ripiena con tartufo e funghi, crostini con salsiccia, una pancetta alla brace perfettamente cotta, una fresca insalata di verza e una bruschetta calda all’olio d’oliva molto saporita. Per i primi abbiamo scelto: Gnocchetti fatti in casa ai funghi porcini, deliziosi e ben preparati. Pappardelle al sugo di cinghiale bianco, discrete, ma leggermente meno convincenti rispetto agli gnocchi. Nonostante fossimo già piuttosto sazi, sono arrivati i secondi: Una gustosa tagliata, patate arrosto, un assaggio di fritto ascolano (olive e cremini eccellenti) e un agnello in salmì, su cui abbiamo avuto qualche riserva. Il tutto è stato accompagnato da un vino rosso della casa di buona qualità. Infine, un delizioso tris di dolci della casa e un bicchierino di ratafià hanno concluso la cena. Il personale si è dimostrato gentile e attento per tutta la serata, la materia prima era ottima, e i titolari si sono rivelati simpatici e accoglienti. L’unica nota dolente è stato il conto di 45€ a testa, che abbiamo trovato leggermente alto. Tuttavia, con una cena così abbondante e completa, il rapporto qualità-prezzo resta comunque soddisfacente. Consiglio: sarebbe opportuno informare in anticipo i clienti del menù fisso e del relativo costo, per evitare sorprese. In ogni caso, complimenti a tutto lo staff per l’ottima esperienza culinaria!

Una valida location per gustare la tradizione ascolana, unica pecca il servizio, sicuramente carino e gentile ma senza un menu o meglio il menu diventa fisso a tua insaputa !
