I'm a child but for me the experience at this restaurant was really nice. Excellent food, excellent service

What a beautiful dinner! I didn't expect to be treated with so much attention and so many different courses of strictly grilled meat. Bruschetta with sausage, crispy bacon and I won't continue because it's all worth trying. Only the dessert is not grilled.

Welcoming location, very clean and comfortable environment. Genuine food with typical dishes, generous portions and well seasoned. Homemade desserts that to define sublime is an understatement. Excellent service with managers who, in addition to total availability, offer a friendliness that is difficult to find and I have visited and continue to visit a lot of restaurants! Going to Ascoli without stopping at Ruspante is worse than a mortal sin. Every time I return to Ascoli I will stop because it will be a real pleasure.

We came here from Rome for a trip out of town and the choice of restaurant was excellent. Open since 1972, we immediately noticed the atmosphere on 2 floors and the kindness in welcoming us. As soon as we sat down they brought us a rich appetizer consisting of various courses including cured meats, roasted bacon, cabbage, bruschetta with sausage and classics, and from here we could already notice the typical and genuine flavors of the place. We ordered the tagliatelle with wild boar and the pasta with mutton sauce (the sauce was delicious with a small hint of spiciness) and 2 second courses based on wild boar and lamb which were really good and plentiful. All with a nice bottle of Montepulciano. And finally a salad with very delicate pieces of orange. Followed by 3 types of coffee desserts with possible anise and house liqueur. Really low price for the abundance and above all quality of the food. Highly recommended.

During a walk in the center of Ascoli Piceno, always fascinating to visit, we decided to have dinner at Il Ruspante, taking advantage of the opportunity to discover the new location of the restaurant, which moved some time ago from Roccafluvione to the heart of Ascoli. Reservation was necessary and, once we arrived, we were struck by the well-kept location, with a lovely outdoor garden which we imagine is perfect for outdoor dining in the summer season. At the entrance we were greeted with great courtesy by the dining room staff, who immediately seated us and served us water, preparing us for the arrival of the appetizers. However, one detail left us a little taken aback: the restaurant does not have an à la carte menu and it was not specified in advance that the restaurant format includes a fixed menu including starters, first course, second course and desserts. This is a point that we recommend improving by notifying the customer at the time of booking for greater clarity. However the restaurant has a Very varied and quality fixed menu. The appetizers were a great start: a platter of mixed cured meats, a tasty crepe stuffed with truffles and mushrooms, crostini with sausage, perfectly cooked grilled bacon, a fresh cabbage salad and a hot bruschetta with very tasty olive oil. tasty. For the former we chose: Homemade gnocchi with porcini mushrooms, delicious and well prepared. Pappardelle with white wild boar sauce, discreet, but slightly less convincing than the gnocchi. Even though we were already quite full, the second courses arrived: A tasty cut, roast potatoes, a sample of fried Ascoli (excellent olives and cremini) and a pickled lamb, about which we had some reservations. All this was accompanied by a good quality house red wine. Finally, a delicious trio of homemade desserts and a glass of ratafià concluded the dinner. The staff were kind and attentive throughout the evening, the raw materials were excellent, and the owners were friendly and welcoming. The only sore point was the bill of €45 each, which we found slightly high. However, with such an abundant and complete dinner, the quality-price ratio is still satisfactory. Tip: it would be advisable to inform customers in advance of the fixed menu and its cost, to avoid surprises. In any case, congratulations to all the staff for the excellent culinary experience!

A renovated environment that does not forget the deep roots of Ascoli hospitality and cuisine. Very professional service with a pleasant touch of familiarity naturally expressed by the family led by "Giggi" who has written on his apron: "52 years with you and I will never get tired". More than a promise, a reality. The presence of his wife Anna is solid, always active in the kitchen to guarantee tradition. Let yourself be carried away by the enthusiasm and good humor expressed by the children Clorinda and Quirino who will be able to advise you in your choices even if they don't skimp on quantity and... you will still end up tasting everything! My parents took me to "Giggi" way back in 1971, in the historic restaurant in Roccafluvione. Now in Ascoli, in a beautiful building in the historic center where traditional flavors and their passion have never changed. Well done! Augustine
