01/09/2025: After several attempts, one evening in late August we finally managed to find a table at Paolo Arpesella's Locanda Antica. It's no wonder it's always so busy: this place truly has something special. As soon as you step inside, you feel like you've stepped back in time, into an atmosphere reminiscent of childhood memories, Sundays spent at grandparents' homes, and authentic, unforgettable traditions. As others have pointed out, this isn't just an inn; it's La Locanda with a capital L. Paolo, the host, perfectly embodies the old-fashioned spirit: he welcomes you with a smile, stops at the table, offers passionate advice, and knows how to create that sense of camaraderie that makes dinner more than just a meal, but an experience. The menu is simple and authentic, without frills: what's there, is there. The portions are just right, never overdone, perfectly balanced. You don't come here for elaborate dishes, but to rediscover the beauty of genuine cuisine, made with raw ingredients and flavors that still taste of home. The value for money is amazing: appetizer, first course, second course, dessert, water, wine, and coffee for €30 per person. In times like these, a real treat. I give it 5 stars only because I can't give more. I recommend everyone to stop here, treat themselves to a few hours of timeless beauty, and let yourself be transported on a journey that takes you back to rhythms and flavors that are now rare.
