"Refuge" in name but in fact a container of quality, hospitality, courtesy and above all excellent cuisine with first choice products carefully prepared and explained in detail! Tonight we limited ourselves to a fish menu of superlative composition and variety, strictly fresh! But we still wanted to return to continue enjoying other delicacies! This evening was the first time but like all "first times you never forget"!! A nice and charming place, the owners welcome you in such a way as to make you feel immediately at ease, and believe me these days it's not so easy, immediately creating a family atmosphere. Then, last but not least, a decidedly excellent price/quality ratio.

We took rib eye, spaghetti with zucchini, French fries, spenich, and Panna Cota.
All the dishes were excellent!
The price was very reasonable.

Went here to experience a gluten free cooking course. Authentic Italian recipes from a very experienced chef. He taught us how to make many classic dishes and we saw how careful they are to avoid cross contamination. For instance they made the decision to no longer serve pizzas as the flour gets everywhere. If you want an authentic Italian meal I highly recommend this restaurant.

FANTASTIC! We stayed at a small villa down the street from il Rifugio so were hoping the restaurant would be good. Absolutely the BEST FOOD we ate over the two weeks we were in Europe and we had some excellent cuisines from England, France, Germany to Switzerland. My 13 year old son, a little chef in the making, was thrilled to be able to order spaghetti and meatballs. Yes, meatballs in Europe, normally it is only Bolognese. Except for a place in LA, Loconda Portofino's (chef is from Florence), the meatballs were hands down the best we've every had around the world, and certainly best in all of southern Italy. Flavor and softness were just insane. Great inside and outside milieu. My wife was raving about the vibe, decoration, and music (jazz). The chef/owner spent some time in the US and speaks excellent English. Yes, there is not a view of the ocean, but we made the mistake of eating at La Rosa down the street the night before because of the view and La Rosa was terrible. Horrible food (smothered in cups of cheap sauce), wait staff just grumbled at us and it wasn't cheap. We LOVED Rifugio and highly recommend. Best restaurant we went to in Sorrento, even if we loved the grilled Octopus at Molo '52 (also good restaurant in Sorrento proper). On a beautiful warm summer evening there's no place else we'd rather eat! Looking forward to returning. Thank you il Rifugio!!

A delightful evening of delicious dining! We had a wonderful salad and salmon that was prepared perfectly, with a side of grilled vegetables. We sat outside near a stone wall with jasmine growing on it, perfuming the air. Our server, Fanni, was so sweet and attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Fantastic restaurant, the atmosphere is amazing.
The chef is the nicest fellow. We loved it so much we enquired about a cooking class and we did it the very next day.
