Our menu was a beautiful journey ❤️ everything was beautiful

🇮🇹 Il Piccolo Principe - Il Piccolo Principe
🌟🌟 2 MICHELIN Stars - 2 Michelin Stars
🍴 Creative, Contemporary
🎗️ Viareggio is a coastal city in the province of Lucca, Tuscany. Known as a picturesque Ligurian seaside resort, it is a popular destination for beachside relaxation and cultural experiences, particularly the world-famous Carnevale di Viareggio.
🎗️ Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte first opened in 1922 as the Select Palace Hotel. The original building was designed by Florentine architect Giuseppe De Micheli, and later by Ugo Giovannozzi, making it a true Tuscan architectural icon and a symbol of the Belle Époque era of the Italian Riviera. The hotel also attracted a wealth of aristocrats, influential businessmen, members of the royal family, and prominent figures in the arts and culture world. Back then, guests arrived in luxury cars like Bugatti and Silver Ghost, while ocean liners brought Americans to experience the beauty of its famous golden sand beaches and unique atmosphere. In its early days, the hotel showcased its cutting-edge technology, including in-room telephones and automated laundry services. In 1930, the hotel was renamed Principe di Piemonte in honor of the last King of Italy, Umberto II of the House of Savoy. Completely renovated in 2021, the Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte’s rooms and grounds have been redesigned to be spacious, airy, and reflect sustainable principles while incorporating Tuscan craftsmanship. Il Piccolo Principe, the restaurant on the ground floor, features a contemporary and elegant décor, with large round tables covered in white cloths and comfortable woven chairs. One wall features portraits of the Medici family, the powerful and influential political figure of Florence between the 13th and 17th centuries. On the other, a large mirror offers a panoramic view of the beautiful sea, its deep blue light perfectly contrasting with the soft lighting in the dining room.

Overall a wonderful experience. Beautiful room/ table, great plating, wonderful staff. Lots and lots of fun and delicious amuse bouche and fancy breads. We went for the classic menu and they were very accommodating with allergies etc. The spaghetti/ beef tartare were great and the plum dessert was quite nice. The risotto was too al dente for our taste but that’s how Italians like it I guess. The fish was just ok - it was cooked but it was luke warm and not flaky. Wine by the glass start at 40/50 Euros each on top of the set meal price. On occasion, I found the staff were hanging around a bit too much and clearing plates too quickly after we finished.

A wonderful experience.
The welcoming staff is kind and friendly, as are the dining room staff, who seem to dance with synchronized, fluid movements as they illustrate Chef Mancino's marvelous dishes.
The restaurant, which has undergone an elegant makeover, is more dazzling than ever.
And then the menu!
We chose the experience menu and were deeply impressed by every single course.
Undoubtedly, this is thanks to the excellent ingredients, many of which are local, but above all, thanks to the chef, who always manages to give new identities to the dishes he creates.
We've been following his work for years, and it's always a surprising confirmation.
In short: we can't wait to return!!!

I was there in March with my friends, I personally liked everything, what stuck with me was that each dish told a story, the plating was much simpler than other starred restaurants, but with an explosion of flavors, the dish that I liked the most strangely was the spaghetti with butter and anchovies. (They also gave us the pasta and the recipe, they were very sweet) The service was good, and due to the location unfortunately we went for dinner, we could not enjoy the view facing the outside.

I rarely give 5 stars but “Il Piccolo Principe” deserves them all.
Starting from the booking process and the courtesy phone call the day before dinner.
Everything was simply perfect: welcome, professionalism, kindness and smiles putting customers at ease.
The care of the guest is a value in this restaurant.
We tasted the classic menu and I was impressed by all the courses and the very high quality. Of course, some things are more in my style while others are less so but the care, attention and research are indisputable.
Really good.
And the guys are uniquely professional and prepared. Compliments in particular to Aisha (I hope it is written like that) and to the other guy (whose name I don't know).
We will return.
