Dinner for two, with a reservation for the afternoon. Very small and intimate place, original and adaptable maritozzi (large or small), very good gricia and amatriciana. Excellent and friendly service.

Probably the best and most balanced carbonara you'll find in Rome. A warm welcome, and a noteworthy location, very small, but that might just be its strong point.

I once heard that the best perfumes are in the smallest bottles, tonight I can guarantee that's true. Had the opportunity/blessing to dine at Maritozzo Rosso, perhaps the smallest restaurant I have ever been at but definitely with the best carbonara I have ever tried. Shout out to Samuel and team. Last night and meal!!! We decided to visit their second location in Trastevere. We'll my people this place was just as good. Only issues I had here was the space is tight. Some may say its romantic I say I enjoy my space. Food wise I ordered the polpette en sugo( the other locations meatball were more tender) still good flavor was definitely buenooo. This time I had Gricia originale and wife had Caico e pepe.

Nel cuore di Trastevere e a debita distanza dai circuiti del turismo si trova questo locale rimasto immutato, quasi il tempo avesse deciso di prendersi una pausa. Specialità della casa è la pasta alla carbonara, premiata con il gradino più alto del podio nel contest miglior carbonara della capitale da "Roma Today". Oltre al primo più replicato e imitato, c'è spazio per la rivisitazione della cucina romana con la proposta di un maritozzo salato, ripieno con polpette di carne al sugo e tutto abbinato ad un buon calice di cesanese rosso e finale con immancabile maritozzo originale. Caratteristica del posto è lo spazio angusto, ma raccolto e dall'atmosfera accogliente, che si pone come baluardo di romanità, cosa confermata anche dalla presenza di clienti "romani de Roma" che dal caotico centro si sono spostati al più tranquillo Gianicolo o Monteverde Vecchio. Come tocco finale, il calore e la simpatia del titolare, come un po' di tutti gli abitanti capitolini, che alla cucina uniscono la tradizione verace a completare un'esperienza unica come Roma e i romani.

Che posticino adorabile! Un localino davvero sfizioso, maritozzi salati e dolci, primi speciali, tutte materie prime di ottima qualità e personale sorridente e disponibile!
