We popped in for an early dinner with my 3 year old. The kitchen didn’t open for an hour and a half but they got us drinks and snacks and my daughter’s order arrived 30 mins before official opening. Delicious food and lovely atmosphere!

The Marchese surprised us by managing to combine the style of an ancient tavern with a refined restaurant, starting from the girl who takes care of the reception to the open kitchen and the bar area with the barman praying for cocktails. The choices of cocktails and wines are very versatile, perfect both for a simple aperitif and for a more substantial dinner. For dinner we ordered two appetizers, a tartare with sesame wafer and truffle and a crouton with stracciatella, shrimp and lemon jam. They were both good with the simple but very tasty tartare, instead the simple crouton is all ingredients that veer towards the sweet so not very incisive in terms of flavor. Carbonara and amatriciana were the obvious choice for the first courses being an osteria in the heart of Rome and I can tell you that they were really good and tasty!! Absolutely recommended! I also chose to try the red mullet, absolutely rejected!! Without beating around the bush it was dry, hard, tasteless and you could only feel a strong smokiness that covered everything! Also confirmed by the receptionist who confirmed the complaints of other customers for this dish… For the inconvenience she offered us a small discount, very professional and friendly! Recommended? Yes, but watch out for the second courses 😉

Good food and good atmosphere. Went there due to AmEX dining abroad credit. Carbonara & amatriciana were tasty and good portions. Starters of vitello tonnato and cod croquette also flavourful. Tiramisu super nice and fresh. Slightly annoyed with 7 eur charge for table cover when everyone else around got offered bread and we didn't. I am fine with paying table cover provided the service matches the charge. The response from the lady on the reservation/ welcome desk wasn't good as well. She should definitely be more friendly and less aggressive.

Una bella sorpresa in pieno centro a Roma. Bello il posto, buono il servizio e ottimo tutto quello che ho mangiato. In particolare ho trovato la matriciana delicata e squisita, forse la migliore mangiata nei ristoranti a Roma. Tornerò con piacere. Bravi

Il Marchese, a mio avviso, non si smentisce mai. Sicuramente è tra i miei ristoranti preferiti a Roma. Ottimo connubio tra ristorazione romana casareccia, ma allo stesso tempo elegante nella presentazione. Ottimo il carciofo, in tutte le sue presentazioni. Polpette al sugo che ricordano i vecchi sapori delle nostre amate nonne. Ottimi e deliziosi i primi. Buona la cantina dei vini, ottimo il lavoro dei barman, buono anche il servizio. Da attenzionare l’accoglienza, forse un po’ di pazienza in più migliorerebbe il servizio. Spero che l’atteggiamento della dolce signorina all’ingresso resti un caso isolato.
