Il Maghetto In Roma

Back at Maghetto Pizza and Pasta after a few months... we had supplì amatriciana, cod fillet and courgette flowers while waiting for the pizzas... we tried a delicata (cream of cheese, boiled potatoes, buffalo mozzarella, tuna and mozzarella), a montanara (porcini mushrooms, speck, cream of pecorino and mozzarella) and an off-menu one (cream of pumpkin, bacon and gorgonzola). All very good. Well done.

The best carbonara I've ever eaten!

Since my husband and I have a business in the area, we often go to Maghetto, especially for lunch. The cleanliness, friendliness, and quality of the food—whether pasta, meat, or pizza—have made it our favorite restaurant in the area.

We went for dinner. The interior is small and the location isn't particularly exciting, but it's my neighborhood and I like it a lot anyway. Starting with the fried foods, we had a cacio e pepe supplì, which I thought lacked the kick that pecorino should provide. A regular supplì was good, but also a bit lacking in personality—let's say a slightly bland flavor. But both were great, and the breading was good. Finally, a potato croquette with porchetta, off the menu, which was truly delicious, and I would have eaten only those all evening. It smelled great, tasted great, and was perfectly breaded. The pizzas, a capricciosa and a delicata without tuna, are very, very good—I'd say definitely better than the supplì. The pizza is thin, just the way I like it, and they serve it to you already sliced, which isn't a given. The quality-price ratio is definitely a strong point, as I think it's a great place with very low prices. In fact, I'd go there even if it were a little more expensive.

Simple pizzeria in a popular neighborhood of Rome, I really liked the pizza. It is family run, if you happen to be in the area it is worth stopping by.
