Arriviamo in 6 alle 2 del pomeriggio, reduci da una lunga gita in bicicletta. Chiediamo se possiamo mangiare un piatto di pasta al volo. Il proprietario ci accoglie con garbo e gentilezza, ci fa preparare un'ottima pasta, beviamo acqua a volontà, anche del vino, caffè, tutto in un'atmosfera piacevolissima e in un contesto ambientale accogliente, paghiamo anche con bancomat separati, il tutto a un prezzo inatteso (positivamente parlando). Between advice and chance we end up in this restaurant, one of the few open on Tuesdays. What can I say, a real surprise. Excellent quality dish, impeccable service and a menu closely linked to the territory as well as traditions. Highly recommended.

Cozy place, helpful staff, typical and much appreciated dishes. The dishes were more abundant than expected, as well as very good. All washed down with a good loose wine. The waiting time, once seated, was normal. Advise

A beautiful discovery. The location of the Grottino reflects the atmosphere of Viterbo, adequate furnishings for a place in the historic center, in my humble opinion the roses were a little out of place but otherwise everything was very nice. Let's get to the dishes: very good mixed house starter, excellent raw materials, cheeses and cured meats, although I would have avoided the bresaola rolls with spreadable cheese and the slightly old-fashioned combination of melon and raw ham. Pea and asparagus timbale excellent, as is the cheese quiche. The savory croissant stuffed with lard is excellent. The first courses (green tortelli stuffed with cheese with truffle and asparagus tagliatelle with crispy bacon and pecorino di fossa) were overall very good, with two small imperfections: 1) the tortelli pastry was very thick; 2) they were not drained carefully, in fact I detected the presence of cooking water at the bottom of the plate. The tagliatelle were perfect. Good coffee served with artisanal chocolates. Of note is the extreme professionalism of the dining room staff, from picking up coats as soon as we enter to bringing a bag hanger to the table for my lady, always keeping glasses full, providing differentiated menus (mine with prices, my wife's without prices). The only advice is to make the wooden balustrade more stable when climbing the stairs leading to the bathroom. Excellent value for money. Super recommended.

I ordered pasta and beef and it was delicious.

For gluten-free options, penne-sized pasta is provided to suit the sauce, and two rice cakes are also needed (questionable as a choice). Given the service trying to be elevated, without any real success, it would be best to avoid these choices instead. Risotto quite good, overcooked. The rest of the food choices were very good.

Unique experience, we entered a place with a slightly retro look and the waitress was very attentive and always ready to help us. The first unique, the fettuccine was spacey, double and cooked to perfection. Truly a beautiful place, the real gem were the handwritten menus and the fresh flowers on each table. Super recommended
