Il Grottino In Viterbo

We found this restaurant by chance while strolling through the center of Viterbo. We ordered the chef's menu with spaghetti, guanciale, and pecorino cheese. The rabbit in white sauce with olives and a jam tart were delicious. Everything was delicious. The location is truly beautiful and intimate, perfect for a romantic lunch or dinner. The staff is incredibly friendly. The owner served the tables, pouring water or wine as soon as the glass was almost empty. A wonderful culinary experience. Bravo!

The place is simple and welcoming, with attentive and friendly service that makes you feel at home. The dishes are authentic and rich in flavor. I loved the pappardelle with wild boar ragù, perfect in their simplicity, and the beef braised in red wine, tender and flavorful. The homemade desserts are also excellent, a sweet end to the meal. The prices are fair, considering the quality and generous portions. An excellent choice for those who love traditional, rustic cuisine.

A refined and intimate atmosphere in the heart of the city center. The owner is attentive to all his customers, making your lunch or dinner an experience rather than just a simple meal. You can choose individual dishes or a tourist menu, but tourist is an understatement because every dish is carefully prepared and delicious. He also offers specials of the day that aren't on the menu.

The staff were very friendly, which is already a good start. The food was very good, both traditional and otherwise. The only complaint is that the table setting could be updated a bit.

Entering this restaurant after exploring Viterbo's historic center for lunch on August 15th was as comforting as arriving at a desert oasis. The extremely kind waiter led us to an elegant, softly lit room featuring creative table settings with attention to detail. The dishes we chose showcased quality ingredients and refined presentation. From the mixed appetizer to the dessert, everything was delicious and original. A seafood first course and a guinea fowl terrine were brought together with just the right amount of anticipation. The desserts were delicious: gelato in a pool of blueberries cooked in wine, and mint mousse in a chocolate shell. Excellent wine and beer. I hadn't seen coffee in a cup with a lid in a long time. The prices were reasonable for the food and the hospitality. My heartfelt congratulations for your hard work, done with care and passion.
