Il Grottino In Bologna

We had a wonderful dinner. Garganelli al grottino and husbands pizza were yummy. Also, delizia al Simone dessert. Plus generous portion of wine, beer, and bread. Highly recommend giving this family owned restaurant a try!

I ate the pizza and it was really excellent. The price was normal. I will go back.

Feels very authentic. Seems like it is run by a family. Great traditional atmosphere. Looked like local families diner here on weeknights.

I wholeheartedly recommend it. I ordered the chef's (dad's) pizza, and it was delicious. It was oven-baked. The carbonara was wonderful. The sauce and butter did their job. I ordered a second one immediately after finishing the first. The other pastas were also delicious. Made with care and cleanly. Everything was fresh. The prices were cheaper than in Poland, so for a reasonable price, the whole family could fill their bellies. :)

We had an excellent experience at Il Grottino in Bologna. The pizza, lasagne, and every dish we tried were absolutely fantastic — you can really taste the homemade, authentic Italian touch in everything they serve. The service was quick and surprisingly intuitive; even without speaking the same language, there was a genuine sense of understanding and warmth that made us feel truly welcome. From the outside it might not look particularly fancy, but don’t let that fool you. The atmosphere inside is cozy, authentic, and inviting — and the quality of the food speaks for itself. Feeling welcomed and enjoying real, handmade Italian dishes counts for so much, and Il Grottino delivers beautifully. Highly recommended!

You won't find pizza like this anywhere else. A pizzeria from another era, family-run, not always impeccable, but... you won't find pizza like this anywhere else! No Neapolitan, no Roman, no gourmet, no DOC, no DOP, but just... that soft, light, crispy, chewy, digestible, and tasty pizza that no longer exists.

Family-run restaurant/pizzeria in the heart of Bolognina (mother in the kitchen, father at the counter, and two sons in the pizza oven). Unique dough: the pizza is baked fragrant from the inside out (usually, in almost all pizzerias, I find the pizzas extremely soft in the center, so soft that I can't even distinguish the dough from the toppings) and topped with good-quality ingredients. If you want to branch out on the restaurant front, I recommend the spaghetti carbonara: delicious!!! The place is very cute and welcoming, the atmosphere truly family-friendly, and all the staff are very kind without being intrusive. I also really appreciate that all the customers who frequent this restaurant usually speak at a very low volume...
