If you're after something different from your usual Italian spot, this is it! The food is super authentic and homemade - generous portions, too. The homemade wine and pasta were amazing. We had an awesome time and felt so welcomed!

If you are looking for something else then your basic Italian restaurant. Look no more. This is the place to have authentic generous homemade cuisine. Thank you Antonio. Great guy so many stories to tell. Beautiful homemade wine and pasta. We had a great an amazing time and felt welcomed. 🇦🇺🇫🇷

I was immediately struck by the kindness with which we were welcomed. The atmosphere is rustic, and we felt at home. The platter of Lucanian cheeses and cured meats was excellent. I'd also like to highlight the excellent wine by the glass (Aglianico, produced by them). I had the opportunity to try an EXCEPTIONAL raw eggplant salad: in Magna Graecia, eggplant was considered the food of the gods. A once-in-a-lifetime experience! Actually, "twice" because I returned two nights later.

A typical local restaurant where I've had the best Italian food, including the Caciocavallo, the best cheese I've ever tasted. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We ordered the house antipasto with homemade cured meats, cheeses, and eggplant—excellent quality! For the first course, handmade pasta with porcini mushrooms, and to finish, grilled pecorino cheese. Everything was excellent, and especially locally sourced. Highly recommended.

31/12/2025: I went to Forendum in Lavello (both restaurant and hotel) with my parents, and the experience was simply perfect. We ordered two pizzas, pasta, and an appetizer: everything was very, very, very good. You can taste the quality and attention to detail, with authentic flavors and a truly local and regional touch. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming, always available, and with a way of doing things that made you feel right at home. The wine was also truly excellent: well-chosen and perfect to accompany dinner. Another thing that really struck me was the ambiance, unique and evocative: a sort of "cave-like" atmosphere, warm and unique, which made the evening even more special. Honestly, I have nothing to criticize. I recommend Forendum to anyone visiting Lavello: it's absolutely worth eating there. I would go back in a heartbeat!
