Trattoria al Gatto Nero, Italia In Venezia

Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. From the moment you enter, you are welcomed like an old friend (even though it was our first visit). The complimentary Prosecco was very much appreciated on this wet Tuesday lunchtime. We took the advice of our charming waiter and selected the Gran Antipasto Gatto Nero followed by the flagship risotto and were not disappointed. The accompanying Pinot Grigio was well priced and complimented the food very well. Ending with one of the best tiramisu and I’ve tasted, we couldn’t fault our meal. It is usually necessary to make an advance reservation but at this time of year you may be lucky with a walk in. This highly acclaimed restaurant manages to retain the atmosphere of a family local trattoria. We will return in the summer when we can enjoy another superb meal, hopefully the sunshine .
