Il gallo di Pietra In Pescocostanzo

We went to Il Gallo di Pietra in Pescocostanzo at the invitation of friends, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The restaurant has an extremely romantic atmosphere, with soft lights and a setting that always recalls a bit of the Christmas atmosphere. The restaurant, in a historic building, retains all its charm. Initially I was a bit perplexed about the appetizers, since the proposal is mainly based on platters, which this time we skipped. We instead opted for the first and second courses off the menu, following the staff's advice. The ravioli filled with ricotta and covered with truffles were really excellent, as was the braised meat in wine, accompanied by local side dishes such as bitter and slightly spicy chicory. The wine selection is extensive and the desserts delicious - the meringues and apple strudel were both exceptional. A special applause for the courtesy of the staff, in particular for Vittorio, very nice and very attentive. In conclusion, a place where we will definitely return. The price is in line with the quality and average of the area, therefore absolutely recommended!

Very cute and cozy restaurant in Pescocostanzo. Food was excellent. Service was perfect. Atmosphere was just what you would hope for in this quaint mountain town with small, intimate rooms and even a fireplace. Highly recommend.

Siamo stati a Il Gallo di Pietra a Pescocostanzo su invito di amici, ed è stata un’esperienza davvero piacevole. Il ristorante ha un’atmosfera estremamente romantica, con luci soffuse e un’ambientazione che richiama sempre un po’ l’atmosfera natalizia. Il locale, in un palazzo storico, conserva tutto il suo fascino. Inizialmente ero un po’ perplesso sugli antipasti, poiché la proposta è basata principalmente su taglieri, che questa volta abbiamo saltato. Abbiamo invece optato per i primi e i secondi fuori menù, seguendo i consigli dello staff. I ravioli ripieni di ricotta e ricoperti al tartufo erano davvero ottimi, così come il brasato al vino, accompagnato da contorni locali come la cicoria amara e leggermente piccante. La selezione di vini è ampia e i dolci deliziosi: le meringhe e lo strudel di mele erano entrambi eccezionali. Un plauso speciale alla cortesia del personale, in particolare a Vittorio, simpaticissimo e molto attento. In conclusione, un posto dove sicuramente torneremo. Il prezzo è allineato alla qualità e alla media della zona, quindi assolutamente consigliato!

I had dinner at this really lovely restaurant in the center of Pescocostanzo. The waiters were very friendly and helpful, attentive to every need. The chef is very talented! I tried various first courses and the pork with hazelnuts. Everything was delicious. Congratulations!

Tanti bei ricordi legati a questo ristorante di un hotel di Pescocostanzo dove abbiamo soggiornato in diverse occasioni in passato. Ci mancavamo ormai da qualche anno e con gioia noto che la cortesia, la location e la qualità del cibo sono rimaste immutate. Un ottima cena davvero a prezzi assolutamente adeguati. Per me è certamente uno dei migliori ristoranti della zona. Consigliatissimo!!

I have been visiting Abruzzo for 40 years, but only today did I decide to treat myself to lunch in this little gem in the very central Palazzo Grilli. Everything, from the welcome, to the attention to the tables, to the absolutely impeccable service, to the environment, was perfect. We showed up without a reservation, with a child and a dog, after an hour of playing in the snow, and a table was immediately reserved for us in a small and tastefully furnished room. The menu is full of inviting and non-trivial proposals. The venison steak is exceptional, the platter of cold cuts and cheeses is fabulous, the wine list is extensive.

Nice place, with an ancient flavour. Good service, courteous and helpful Good food, good raw materials and well prepared. You can eat for 40/50 euros per person, consuming a first course, second course, side dish and dessert + service and water. The only note to note, to pay more attention to the cobwebs, there was one (looking dated) above my head. In the fireplace room, the fireplace could have been better maintained without the empty fruit box placed above it and the bathroom, unique for men and women. However I would go back
