il Focolare In Roma

I've been frequenting Focolare forever (a Monteverde delicacy), and it's always been a go-to for family lunches and after-theater drinks. However, I've been disappointed twice, so I decided to write about it! Scaloppine with porcini mushrooms was watery and bland. Bruschetta with burrata and anchovies was TINY (two thin slices of baguette). Spaghetti with clams, perhaps equivalent to half a portion, and also bland (no salt in the water, clams are fine, but a little salt is needed). The house white wine was sweet and slightly sweet. Fried food (Milanese cutlet and fried vegetables) was made with a Chinese-style batter, firm and tough, and detached. The cutlet was half raw. In short!!!! If the sous-chefs, and I don't know the chef, don't know Italian cuisine (because they were born elsewhere), it's not their fault. But I, paying what I pay at Il Focolare, expect the taste of grandma's cooking, not the invented one they think is Italian cuisine, which is what it takes. What's going on? Third time and then I'm never coming back.

I always gladly return, with a warm welcome and excellent food. I've often brought friends here, and they've always been amazed by the courtesy of the service and the cuisine. You feel right at home, and you see so many families celebrating birthdays. What can I say about the zabaglione, made in front of the guests? A real coup de théâtre, with elegance and mastery. When they ask me about a restaurant in Rome, "Il Focolare," the answer is undeniable.

Delicious dinner and a welcoming, almost homey atmosphere, a restaurant that blends Roman tradition with fine seafood. Friendly and attentive service. Try the signature zabaglione—an experience not to be missed!

Ristorante Focolare isn't just a restaurant: it's an experience! A historic establishment passed down from generation to generation, where tradition and quality meet every day. You'll find only the finest products, carefully selected and always served with a genuine smile, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The menu is vast: the real challenge is choosing what to eat! From side dishes to first courses, second courses, fruit, and desserts, the selection is so extensive and inviting that you'll want to try them all. I go there very often and always have a wonderful experience. I highly recommend it: it's worth traveling halfway across Rome to eat this well. My favorite restaurant here in Rome. Must try!

That’s what I call a nice surprise — got a bonus on a website (it’s in the photo) and decided to go out for dinner. The food turned out amazing, and the evening was calm and cozy.

I've returned to this restaurant located in the Monteverde area many times, and each time I've been amazed by the quality of the products and their presentation. Returning to eat at this restaurant is a pleasure that deserves to be indulged every now and then. A family-run restaurant with top-notch staff. The menu ranges from fish to meat, and pizza is also available. This time we opted for a fresh, raw fish appetizer, followed by a truly spectacular first course. To finish, the cold zabaglione with strawberries was a spectacle. I can't wait to return to try other dishes.

The pasta was really tasty and well-prepared — you can tell they care about quality here. I also counted the calories using the service shown in the photo. Super quick and convenient — now I recommend it to everyone who tracks their diet!

Sono tornato tante volte in questo ristorante situato in zona Monteverde in via Rossetti ed ogni volta sono rimasto stupito dalla qualità dei prodotti e dalla presentazione degli stessi. Tornare a mangiare in questo ristorante è un piacere che ogni tanto bisogna soddisfare. Un ristorante a conduzione familiare e con personale di altissima qualità. Si può spaziare tranquillamente dal pesce alla carne è anche possibile mangiare la pizza. Questa volta abbiamo optato per un antipasto di pesce fresco e crudo e a seguire un primo davvero spettacolare. Per finire zabaione freddo con fragole uno spettacolo. Non vedo l'ora di tornare per provare altri prodotti

Si conferma posto bellissimo e cibo di alta qualità ad un costo assolutamente nella norma...e poi c'è lo zabaione, fatto al momento a fine cena, uno spettacolo vero!
