Il Fienile In Ostuni

The restaurant is just below Ostuni and from there in the evening it is beautiful to see the city lit up. It is very beautiful both outside among the olive trees and inside among the ancient stone vaults. We took the house starter: 4 good and imaginative specialties. Amberjack with cherry tomatoes and ravioli were excellent, the white wine too (but there is also beer). Good service and average prices, not exaggerated.

Went in early August with friends, very satisfying, very relaxing environment. I live 4.5km from the restaurant. I will go more often.

A very nice discovery, the place is perfect: beautiful terrace with sea view, the cuisine is homemade: delicious anti pasti, top ravioli... very good choice of wine and the service is very pleasant. And this restaurant gives us crowded tables in the streets....I really recommend,

Dopo una giornata negativa ci siamo detti rifacciamoci la bocca e siamo arrivati al Fienile. Già parlare con Maria ci ha messi di buon umore. La cucina é di livello e finalmente non si parla troppo di lei ma si dà attenzione al rapporto umano. Non ce la faccio più a sopportare i ristoranti che parlano solo di sé. Se volete stare bene in tutti i sensi andateci. Per non parlare della vista,bellissima.

We had perhaps our best meal in Puglia here (and we ate a LOT of good food on our trip). The food was outstanding, with traditional Apulian cuisine and quality ingredients. The setting is beautiful - we were sitting on the outdoor patio just on the outskirts of Ostuni - and, if you peak inside, the indoor dining room is just as impressive, with massive walls and a vaulted ceiling. The kitchen, also visible, is spotless and modern. Do not go if you are in a hurry! The meal is served at a very measured pace, so that you can enjoy the food and the conversation with your companions, but the servers are very patient, friendly and knowledgeable. Although the restaurant is within walking distance of Ostuni, i recommend driving as the road has no sidewalk. When we mentioned to our hostess that we were going to walk back in the dark or call a taxi, she advised us against both and then drove us back to town herself! Overall one of our best experiences on this trip and a demonstration of the very real hospitality of the Pugliese people!

Il Fienile is a must if you’re keen to just slightly step away from the heat and bustle of Ostuni town centre. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location amongst olive groves and fruit trees where a nice cooling breeze drifts up while you watch the sunset. The food was fantastic, lots of home grown and local ingredients used to create some superb dishes. There were also a number of specials to choose from which were complimented by some excellent deserts and great wines. The owner was incredibly helpful, friendly and knowledgable just like the rest of the team. A must visit restaurant if you’re anywhere in the region.
