Wonderful dinner! We celebrated my husband’s birthday! He enjoys seafood and this restaurant was top notch! We met the owners and they were super kind and accomodating!

A traditional restaurant just steps from Piazza San Marco. Excellent food, fresh fish, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent service; the entire wait staff is friendly and professional. Good value.

What can I say?! Exquisite! This is not to be missed if you are looking for the freshest seafood, squid ink pasta, a great bottle of wine, exceptional service. Make a reservation in advance and then let the amazing staff guide you on a culinary experience. We had an antipasti seafood platter and a spider crab dish that kicked off the meal beautifully! We had a gnocchi and the squid ink pasta and then shared a sole dish and finished with a devil’s food cake and two glasses of amaro. The waiter gave a great white wine recommendation and we had a lovely seat to enjoy our meal. I’ll happily return upon every visit.

Our family had lunch here in April 2025 and it was probably our most memorable dining experience in Venice. We had a reservation and sat outside on a perfect spring day. The staff could not have been friendlier, including to our eight-year-old son, who is an adventurous eater. They answered our questions and made excellent suggestions based on our preferences and what was on their menu at the time. I had a couple of Adriatic oysters along with our courses and they were among the best I've ever had. We've been talking about this restaurant afterward at home for months. It's #1 on our go-back list for when we return to Venice. Grazie, Al Covo.

For an unforgettable and authentic taste of Venetian cuisine, look no further. The ambiance is matched by the great service, the waiters are all extremely professional, charming, and attentive. Highlights of our meal included the divine fried calamari (a must-try from the specials menu!) and a surprisingly delicious dessert: vanilla ice cream elevated by a distinctive and unique licorice syrup. Highly recommended!

04/01/2026: Authentic, atmospheric restaurant with great staff and amazing homemade dishes. It’s small (12 seats inside, more outside) so be sure to book. Good value too. Cannot fault the place. It really is ‘very good’, ha.
