Mi sono recato in questa trattoria assieme alla mia ragazza durante il nostro soggiorno a Castelforte. Il locale si trova esattamente al centro del paese, in una piccola e stretta viuzza centrale. E' propria una classica osteria di una volta, quelle in sintesi dove si mangia sempre da Dio. Anche in questo caso la cucina infatti non tradisce: consiglio a tutti di iniziare con un ottimo Antipasto della Casa, ricco di salumi, formaggi, fagioli, ceci, bruschette, parmigiana di melanzane, verdurine e frittata. Tra i primi consigliatissima un'ottima Carbonara. Tra i secondi spicca senza dubbio il fantastico Capretto in umido oltre che delle ottime salsicce. Innaffiate il tutto con un fantastico vino rosso della casa e passerete senza dubbio una fantastica serata. Personale gentile e sempre disponibile, prezzi modici e decisamente nella media del posto, cucina davvero superlativa: in sintesi ASSOLUTAMENTE CONSIGLIATO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The appetizer and the first courses were also excellent. If you don't have a lot of expectations but want to eat well, the place is the right one. Trattoria in the center of the town (which gives it life as it is the only one open on Sundays). Everything is very homemade, even the approach to the customer. Fair prices, even if I had the feeling that they do them a bit "by eye". We did not ask for the menu and the bill did not arrive unless verbally, so no details on the prices of the dishes consumed, but in any case we considered it adequate for the whole context.

Let's start by saying that we are in the area of the typical, historic and free-range trattoria. Let's start from the end, from the wine. The infamous house wine is at best a good table red, at worst acidified oil. Here it is a superb (adjective not used inappropriately) red, dry but rounded without any acidic or marsala notes. Simply perfect. At the stove is a lady who seems to deny the clichés of the "grandmother in kitchens". Elegant and youthful, he knows the ancient secrets of the trade very well
Few dishes. Don't miss the appetizer made from several small plates which also includes an omelette which is anything but banal. A parade of tastings in which, among many, an exquisite ricotta and small and delicate cannellini beans stand out. First we opted for bucatini a l'amatriciana and carbonara. Unavoidable, but mashed pasta and chickpeas loomed large on the menu. Meanwhile, morsels of lamb were placed on the grill, placed in an oven with very light embers. Unfortunately we didn't have the strength to taste them... Very honest prices. Those looking for authentic tradition without fashionable filters are satisfied.

Me ne avevano parlato molto bene di questo locale e lunedì sera ho avuto la piacevolissima conferma , recandomi a mangiare insieme alla mia famiglia ( 11 in totale) ... antipasti vari e abbondanti, carne squisita, e cantucci, tarallini al vino e amari in tavola molto apprezzati ... è un locale molto caratteristico , quindi se vi aspettate velocità, piatti gourmet, e raffinatezza cambiate locale ... troverete la semplicità di una gestione familiare, la cordialità di raffaele, dell'ottimo cibo casareccio e un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo... complimenti e a presto

I think that a place like this should be considered a heritage, I hope it is never renovated because it would lose all the poetry and atmosphere of times gone by. Friendliness is one of the strong points, the appetizers are all cooked, from parmigiana to omelettes, from potatoes and peppers cooked in the oven to beans cooked in the crock. Bruschettas with very tasty oil and cheeses with real quality ricotta and cured meats always in the appetizer a real delicacy accompanied by a wine that will not be labeled but which can be drunk very willingly. The first courses were very good, and I have been going to this place for years and I have tasted almost all of them, tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms, matriciana, Sorrento style gnocchi and also pasta and chickpeas, all excellent. Not to mention the second courses, grilled lamb highly recommended, but the mixed meat not bad either. Lastly, strictly homemade biscuits and cantuccini, dipped in vin santo, are a real delight. I always spend beautiful evenings in that magnificent place and always return very willingly
