We found this place leaving the Teatro Olimpico di Palladio, walking along the adjacent street. We were struck by the showcase with this delicious Paella and Seafood Salad with a very fresh appearance, but also with substance. We sat on the ground, but then we realized that in the basement there is a room with a cellar. We took Paella, seafood salad as in the photo, plus Vicenza-style cod with polenta, the best I've eaten since living in Treviso. Very kind and professional staff.

We had a take out from here last night. The food quality was fantastic. A great choice of small dishes, weighed out as you wanted. Such as lasagne, prawns/squid/tomatoes, marinated sardines, pesto pasta with mozzarella, bean salad, roasted veg, etc.
It was quite expensive, we spent €58 to feed 2 adults and 2 children, but we did order a lot and the quality was great.
Service was very friendly and helpful.

Perfect! We ate in the cellar. I don't speak English at all and I've recently been learning Italian. The waiter was of a kindness that we have not yet seen before, yet we tried several restaurants and each time we were given the menu in English or spoke direct English. There he took the time for me to express myself, find my words and place an order.
The meal was excellent as was the welcome.
We recommend this little corner which doesn't look much from the outside.

Try eating in the cellar. It’s pretty and cool. Very helpful staff and knowledgeable about the wines on offer. Very good cuisine. Possibility of buying wine drunk while eating.

Good service in a lovely setting, and a varied menus with lots to pique my interest. I went for the aubergine pasta, which tasted fine but was so absolutely minuscule it would have left a hamster begging for more. I also disapproved of the teeth shattering bread and overall steep prices for the portion sizes. Unsure whether I’d go back…

A charming deli and restaurant favoured by locals. Maria, Giovanna, Ivana and Santa are welcoming and warm. There's pavement dining as well as down in the cellar where you can see the Roman road and arched brick ceiling.
Il Ceppo has a stunning array of wines and the food was brilliantly cooked. The stuffed courgette flowers come recommended. The deli itself is bursting with lunchtime delights and there are plenty of foodie presents to take home.
