Il Ceppo In Varese

We stopped for a break after visiting the Sacro Monte. We didn't have dinner, but we did have hot chocolate with cream and apricot and hazelnut tart. Everything was delicious, and the staff, even though it was close to closing time, were very kind and helpful!

Very welcoming place, very kind staff, excellent food. If you are in the area I recommend you try it.

IL CEPPO! I remember it from the days of truancy at school when we went up to the meadow ⛰️ Good memories then and still today, for years a coffee stop on a bicycle "obligatory" even just for the pleasure of breathing the warm atmosphere of a real hut-refuge! Welcoming, simple, genuine; Wood, clearly, is the fulcrum of this special place straddling the paths of the Sacro Monte and the Borgo itself. Tidy place, well maintained internally and externally, with outdoor service in the warm seasons. There are numerous parking spaces (obviously on weekends it is a little more difficult to find space), I HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to those passing through: once you reach the top of the square, you will find it on your left! Enjoy your stop 😋

A sunny Saturday afternoon, and a desire to eat in a quaint little place. This is the perfect place...at the Sacred Mount, "Il Ceppo," a quaint mountain hut-style restaurant with something hard to find in similar establishments: the smile of those who welcome you. And yes, because at 2:20 PM, finding someone who greets you with a smile when you ask for food...well, it's a pleasure. Good food, well-cooked and cooked, that conveys a sense of familiarity. A delicious slice of meat, a traditional cake, and the usual coffee. Well done, we'll see you soon. Very fair price. Try it and let me know.

Beautiful restaurant with excellent food and a beautiful view! Very friendly staff and tasty, uniquely prepared daily specials. We will definitely be back!

The only restaurant open on Mondays, at the top of the Sacro Monte di Varese, it offers traditional Lombard cuisine; in this season, I recommend trying their polenta, paired with wild boar, gorgonzola, or mushrooms. The blueberry tart is also very good.

A panoramic view overlooking Varese and excellent cuisine, complemented by the courtesy of the service and the chef who greeted us. Excellent value for truly delicious traditional dishes. Thank you.
