Il casolare delle balze In Bronte

Describing this farmhouse in the Maniace area in a few words would take a book. It's a stone's throw from Nelson Castle and near the Balze waterfalls. The location is splendid. The food is fabulous, but not over the top, though excellent. The cleanliness and courtesy of the wait staff are top notch. The playground for children is excellent, with lots of games and well-kept animals of many species. A truly beautiful place. We'll be back soon.

We went to this facility for lunch on Sunday, and I must say it's very beautiful and well-maintained. Attention to detail, a lovely trail that takes you to see different animal species. Great outdoor area and a children's playground. The only flaw was the food. Homemade bread was a bit hard, coarse appetizers with vegetables and undercooked potatoes, average first courses, nothing exceptional that would make you ask for seconds, and second courses were a bit small compared to expectations. I have to be honest, I wasn't overly pleased, especially considering the price of lunch.

We spent a wonderful day with our friends walking through the Casolare delle Balze park, where we saw various animals, the playground, the fountain, and the castle. The menu was a delight for everyone, but especially thanks to our waiter Gaetano, who made lunch so much more fun!

Nice place.. Family-friendly. Nice park and animals. Service is okay. In my opinion, the menu needs revisiting. I wouldn't go back.

Casolare delle Balze is a wonderful place surrounded by nature, ideal for those seeking tranquility and authenticity. The atmosphere is welcoming and meticulously maintained, and the presence of animals makes the experience even more enjoyable, especially for children and lovers of country life. The food is truly authentic, prepared with typical local products and boasting an authentic flavor: you can taste the quality and passion in every dish. A perfect place to relax and eat well. Stunning location surrounded by nature... all the animals were meticulously cared for... there's also a lovely playground for the kids... lunch was truly excellent! Exceptional first courses... the price was right for the quality and service you receive!! We'll be back! Thank you!

Fascinated by their social media posts, we decided to head over to visit them and see if it was all true in person. We were not disappointed at all. The facility was beautiful and meticulously maintained, the exterior was bucolic yet well-kept and clean, and the animals (the real attraction) were healthy and visibly treated with care and not suffering at all in their enclosures. For lunch, a simple rustic appetizer served as a prelude to a duo of first courses consisting of excellent pistachio ravioli, which truly tasted of pistachio, and homemade macaroni with a truly delicious sauce. For the second course, a trio of meats was delicious and not at all dry, all accompanied by excellent homemade bread and a rustic but pleasant wine. But all of this would not have been complete without the truly friendly, polite, and, in short, splendid wait staff. They made us feel truly at home and pampered in every way.

As for the food, my friends and I wouldn't give it more than 3 stars. Unfortunately, the menu is a bit old-fashioned, and the dishes could/should be revamped, both in terms of modernity and quality. Something wasn't quite right (like the pistachio ravioli). We're giving it 4 stars because overall, the place is well worth it. The farm is spectacular and incredibly well-maintained... 5 stars... So, overall, the average is 4 stars.

I've visited many agritourisms, but none can match this one. Wonderful place, it feels like entering an oasis. A miniature zoo... clean, well-kept, and cared-for animals (as are the manicured lawn, plants, and greenery). ... everything with attention to detail. Large common areas, a children's playground, a waterfall, and a panoramic tower. Excellent, high-quality lunch, and super-fast, precise service. Friendly staff, even offering second courses. Clean, fragrant bathrooms. Fair price for the quality of the food and the service they provide. Highly recommended.
