Il Casale del Notaio In Belpasso

I discovered this place at the end of December during a lunch to celebrate the baptism. The place is beautiful, it is an ancient Palmento (a place where wine was produced) typical of Etna, it has clearly been renovated but maintains much of its original appearance and inside there is still the enormous (original) press for the must in heavy oak. In the press area there are tanks for collecting grape juice and part of the floor from the 1600s. Beautiful outside with excellent views of Etna and the sea with a view up to Brucoli. Excellent and well served land-based food with typical and local products, delicious vegetable appetizers, sheep's ricotta, exceptional first courses, meat stew and pork shank. The chef's desserts are good and the wine is good. A place you return to for a nice lunch. From what I've read, the restaurant also serves as a pizzeria in the evening

Very particular location because it was built in an old millstone in Belpasso-CT, very panoramic with a view of the Gulf of Catania.

In una piovosa domenica di novembre abbiamo deciso di fare una mezz’ora di strada per pranzare in questo posto di cui bene ci hanno parlato. Ho letto prima le recensioni e non mi sono fatto coinvolgere da quelle negative e nemmeno dal fatto che pur aprendo alle 12 fino alle 11:50 nessuno rispondeva. Dopo pochi minuti sono stato richiamato. Ho fatto presente, dopo aver visto le varie pubblicazioni, che mia moglie è vegetariana, nessun problema, ricordatelo all’ingresso che lo shef si inventerà qualcosa sul momento. Ottimo. Il risultato non ha smentito le aspettative. Ex palmento elegante, servizio veloce . Pietanze gustose e grande attenzione al cliente. Può sembrare secondario ma ho gradito l’attenzione allo spreco di versare il vino all’occorrenza e di non lasciare la bottiglia col rischio poi di aprirne inutilmente. Ci torneró sicuramente.

This is a hidden gem in Belpasso! We have been here just over one month and had not noticed it until someone recommended it to us! Beautiful setting overlooking Belpasso and high enough to get really nice unobscured breezes!♥️. Once it gets dark, the scenery changed. The enchanting city and valley lights below were beautiful and the outdoor seating was lit up with lights as well. We are from Louisiana in the U.S.A. and speak English and only a tiny bit of Italian. One of the staff kindly interpreted the menu for us. The menu was not huge, but the quality and unique Sicilian combinations in their selections was outstanding! We enjoyed two appetizers, with the sliced eggplant being the best I have had in all of Sicily! We have been to Sicily 4 times and this time we have been here three months! For our entrees/second courses the three of us chose pork shank with potatoes and two different veal dishes. Each one was amazing with unique flavors and sauces combined! We could not eat it all and gladly took home “take-away” boxes. All and all it was a fabulous experience that we highly recommend!♥️♥️♥️🇮🇹🍷
