Today was a journey through time ... a journey of ancient flavors among the memories of the crackling of a hearth, of tables whitewashed with flour and the magic that Carlo Tonnarini can give to the Il Caraponzolo Restaurant in Calcata where tradition returns with its Flavors and its knowledge, between Nonna Agnese's visciarelle and the Calcatese Tigamaccia with wild fennel...a journey of flavors from other times...thanks Carlo.

Highly recommended. The spectacular attention and the food... Speechless. You can see that it is made with quality products... Everything is delicious. The prices are very affordable and the restaurant very clean and welcoming. I highly recommend it. Not to be missed if you are near the village. To park, you can leave your car in the car park which is located following the signs just a little further up from the restaurant.

Applause to Chef Carlo Tonnarini: he welcomed us with a smile and gave us suggestions and pearls of culinary wisdom and then delighted us with excellent dishes both in terms of technique and raw materials. I hadn't eaten so well in years, I was truly speechless. I will definitely return with family and friends. Compliments!

Before going up to Calcata, I recommend stopping at this welcoming and well-kept restaurant. Excellent quality food, the kind and affable owner also offered us coffee 😊. I highly recommend it and hope to return soon. Thank you

EVERYTHING AMAZING. On the road to Calcata 2 minutes from the car park. We had ragù with truffle, polenta, gorgonzola, radicchio and musto, pumpkin and almond lasagna. The owner was very kind and very welcoming. Prices in line with the quality of the product. We will definitely be back

Cozy place and very kind owner! Excellent quality food, all delicious and fresh. Absolutely recommended. It also meets the needs of those who follow a vegan and/or vegetarian diet.

These are those little places that you almost feel a little sorry to let people know... selfishly you would like to keep them all to yourself. We already knew the restaurant, but I last came there years and years ago. This time we ate even more really well, from the polenta with gorgonzola and radicchio to the fettuccine with abundant porcini mushrooms (mixed which was a delight), from the pumpkin flan to the roast rump, from the VERY TENDER meat... I forgot the starter of beans and ham sausages, delicious. I really couldn't have expected anything better. Then the owner/chef is a very sweet and funny person, the kind you wish would manage all the restaurants in the world. And a good waiter, professional and friendly, attentive to the needs of the diners, without ever falling into forced formality. And the prices are absolutely affordable too (what portions! Get ready to take things home with you, because you shouldn't waste any of that goodness! ). Really five stars for everything, loving cooking and it feels. PS there is also parking and we noticed it too late, so we will have to go back as soon as possible just to take advantage of it! 😁 PPS I would also like to add that I really appreciated the cleanliness of the toilet as well as the availability of many feminine hygiene products, a delicate attention that is not yet available to everyone, but is highly appreciated.

What can I say, the chef is a guarantee! Top quality local products, cleanliness, order and originality... Even just the starters can be enough for a substantial and abundant meal... Top!!
