In Livorno, in Piazza Mazzini, a few steps from the center and the port entrance, stands the Il Cambusiere restaurant. A modern and well-furnished restaurant that offers delicious fish and meat dishes and delicious desserts. I recommend trying as a starter... the monkfish meatballs and the grilled octopus on lime cream of potatoes... as a first course... the cheese and pear Saccottini with sage and parmesan butter while as a second course... the pistachio-crusted cod on chickpea cream. The service was fast and attentive to our requests. I will come back to visit you!!

We had dinner booking with the fork 30% discount. The service is excellent, fast and the owner very nice, kind and helpful. The food is really good and of excellent quality. The only negative thing was the portions, not so much of the first courses (the octopus tagliatelle was right, neither too few nor too many) but of the second courses, although all very good. The cod on velvety sauce was three tiny pieces, the sliced ​​tuna a little small and the same thing for the baby octopus with polenta. Let's say that they were more appetizer portions than second courses. Same thing for the desserts, truly excellent millefeuille and cheesecakes but portions truly like those of a nouvelle cousine. The prices are not low but within the norm, which is why it is recommended with the discount or in any case if you don't want to eat too much.

We went on a Monday and we were alone. Small and welcoming place with very friendly and helpful staff. Very good food and we must mention the very good bread (coming from a Roman). Recommended for a couple's dinner. To start, have a nice caponata with walnuts to accompany with the bread!! Then the mussels where you dip the bread in the sauce and then whatever you want, it's all good. I warn you that you will make a mistake with everything you have in front of you.
