Fantastic experience! The food was of excellent quality and generous portions. The owner was very kind and welcoming. We ate tigelle accompanied by excellent quality cured meats and cheeses. The trio of first courses was really tasty: tortellini with porcini mushrooms, tortellini with cheeses and tagliatelle with wild boar ragù. We will definitely be back!

Perfect restaurant! Incredible view from the panoramic terrace, exquisite food and simple but impeccable service. We ate pappardelle with wild boar that scream for revenge and tagliatelle with ragù with a pasta, but a pasta that even without sauce would have been amazing, we didn't eat anything else because the dishes are super abundant! Highly recommended and even if we are from Bologna we will definitely be back soon.

Excellent trattoria with typical Emilian cuisine. Beautiful location in the countryside, on the hills of Valsamoggia on the border between Modena and Bologna. You can eat divinely and abundantly with normal prices. An anomaly given the period of price increases everywhere. (I have read reviews where the dishes are poor and the prices are high. In my opinion they are confused people who rarely go out to eat) The first courses for me are the best of this place. I recommend the tortellacci because they are fabulous, enormous with a topping of mushrooms, cheeses, classics etc.. Never eaten so good. !! Also the crescentine with cheeses, cold cuts and typical sauces very good.
The only flaw is the service a little slow (especially at midday which is always packed), but if it is not full the place serves you well. Also the waiters and managers of the place are very nice. Especially Fusia always very nice and helpful.
Highly recommended for those who like Emilian cuisine!

Today is the 3rd time I've been there 3 years apart, and I can confirm that the excellent level is always the same.
The first courses are good like only those who know how to make them well and have been doing it for a long time.
The second courses?? It's like going to eat at grandma's, the palate thanks you.
Among the best, as first courses the rosettes and the sweets, in the second courses the rabbit cacciatore and the wild boar stew.....to tears.
Local wines, they never disappoint.
Service, polite, helpful staff, in short, perfect service.
The place immersed in silence with a view of the beautiful valley.
We'll go back without even thinking about it.

We went to this restaurant for lunch with friends last Saturday.
I had read some rather critical reviews that spoke of slow service so, a little scared by these negative opinions, we opted for an encore of first courses the same for everyone (there were 9 of us) and a mixed grill also the same for everyone.
I don't know if it was this, but the service was excellent and in absolutely acceptable times. The owner was very kind and very friendly.
The first courses we tasted are very good (pappardelle with wild boar sauce and ham and pea candies) and the grilled meat is equally good.
"Special" fried polenta!
In the end the bill was more than honest (we spent just over 30 euros each which nowadays is almost not much).
In conclusion we were very satisfied with the Il Cacciatore restaurant and I'm sure I will return there more times now that I have discovered it!

Siamo stati a pranzo di domenica dopo aver fatto due ore di percorso intorno a castello Serravalle a piedi.
Il ristorante è carino soprattutto la balconata esterna che al nostro arrivo era tutta al completo, abbiamo assaggiato in due tre primi in quanto il tris non era possibile prenotarlo tra questi: pappardelle di cinghiale buonissime, tagliatelle ai funghi rovine e tortellacci ai 4 formaggi spaziali. Di secondo il mio ragazzo ha preso il coniglio alla cacciatora io invece il cinghiale.
Vi consiglio di prendere la polenta fritta non ho mai mangiato una così buona.
Il servizio non è velocissimo però vale la pena aspettare!

Not passing through, but it's worth going specifically. I enjoyed my 4 hour drive.
Beautiful view through the window, while eating typical dishes.
I recommend phenomenal tortellini with cream, giant tortelloni with mushrooms.
Friendly service.
Low prices and very high quality.
