Always a pleasant and high-level place, but over time it has lost much of the spontaneity and warmth that characterized it a few years ago. Today, a lot of young and willing staff still makes it a good restaurant.... just a little colder but, on the other hand, definitely more expensive! In any case, positive judgment.... but sad!

Il Balivo is recommended by Italian family. Service and food quality met the level of the recommendation through antipasti/primi, but soon deteriorated. We waited 45 minutes for the second courses to arrive and saw three waiters during that time pass by the table without picking up our primi plates. The seconds finally arrived and were overcooked. The restaurant did not appear understaffed, but obviously the kitchen was not prepared for the 7:45 seating.
Would possibly return at a later date for a second chance.

Every now and then I come back and as always excellent service, curious and excellent things to eat, the raw materials always excellent, I would say more than good the choice of wines with ficus on the premises. In the summer months and always a pleasure.

Cena con amici; locale carino e caratteristico con tavolo spazioso; servizio accurato; ambiente tranquillo; buoni gli antipasti; ottimi i primi di fusilli così come gli agnolotti;
Vino Pinot noir triolet; dolci buoni: mouse al cioccolato, cialda e gelato bunet: rapporto qualità-prezzo adeguato: raccomandabile

Ristorantino all’interno di una graziosa baita in legno,rustico ma allo stesso tempo elegante,serve piatti valdostani rivisitati davvero ottimi,le tagliatelle al ragù sono eccezionali,delizioso anche il gelato al fior di latte fatto in casa con castagne.
