The environment was elegant and the atmosphere was great. The liquor served that day was excellent. The food was delicious, and the desserts were especially good.

In the heart of Salerno's historic center, it enjoys a rare and precious location: just steps from the main streets yet immersed in an intimate atmosphere. The interior is modern and welcoming. The garden is a true added value, a rarity in this historic setting. The modern artworks on display accentuate this sense of uniqueness.

The menu is robust and tasty, with quality ingredients and meticulous preparation. However, given the restaurant's fame and exclusivity, the dining experience is more satisfying than memorable. A few flashes of flair are perhaps lacking, especially in the second half of the service. The menu is adequate, but there's room for further research and creativity.

Excellent service. Attentive and knowledgeable staff manage the table with precision and without being intrusive. The pace is well-calibrated, and knowledge of the menu helps make guests feel guided and valued. This is one of the aspects most consistent with the experience expected from a restaurant of this caliber.
Bill: 4/5
The price is higher than the local average, reflecting both the location and the overall ambition of the project. However, considering a menu that, while good, doesn't reach a distinctive level, the bill remains high but affordable. The value for money is more convincing when evaluated as a whole (location and service) rather than on the individual execution of the dishes.

Preface: Review left about their coffee/breakfast service
We'd stopped by a few mornings earlier and were peeking through the window. A very kind young employee invited us in, even if just for a quick glance. He captivated us with his manners and professionalism and "convinced" us to return.
We went today, but the young man I mentioned earlier wasn't there.
No big deal, we sat down at the counter and started our order (there were five of us).
We asked what a "cortado" coffee was. This prompted a search among the person behind the counter and the rest of the staff to figure out what it was. A coffee with milk, fine.
We ordered two coffees and three espressos.
With an empty room and five coffees, I expect you won't get confused, but that's not a problem.
Then we ask for a croissant, four flavors in total.
They - "Which flavor do you prefer?"
Me - "Strawberry..."
Them - "We don't have any, we only have cream..."
(Although they ended up bringing me the strawberry one)
Neither the coffee nor the croissant thrilled us.
Then they very politely asked us if we wanted more water.
They asked several times.
But in the end, we realized from the receipt that we had to pay for the glasses of water.
No problem, but again... you should have at least written that on your menu.
In short, paying €2.50 for a coffee is no problem; we went there specifically for this experience.
But it wasn't a €2.50 coffee.
It wasn't a service that could "demand" these prices.
Or rather, for these prices, I expect service (and maybe even quality) to match...
The location, on the other hand, is very beautiful.
But next time I want to visit a nice place, I'd rather pay for a museum ticket... and maybe they'll make me a better coffee at the museum café too ;)

A beautiful, refined, and elegant place right in the center of Salerno; very kind staff and impeccable service; good food, the savory cappuccino was exceptional, but for my taste, the other dishes lacked the spark, like with the cappuccino, that extra boost you expect from this place.

My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant on Boxing Day 2025 and chose the tasting menu, which included two appetizers, a first course, a second course, and dessert. It was a simply extraordinary experience in every way.
Every dish was meticulously crafted: the composition, flavor, and presentation were truly exceptional. Nothing was left to chance, and you could clearly sense the great care and passion the kitchen puts into every course.
The dish that struck us most, the one that truly left us speechless, was the risotto. A brilliant idea: divided into two parts, with crispy seaweed on the left and bottarga on the right. A combination of flavors that exceeded all expectations. The bottarga part in particular was sublime: intense, elegant, and perfectly balanced. A risotto we will never soon forget.
The service also deserves special mention. We were greeted with a warmth and kindness that made us feel truly at home—in fact, perhaps even better. The wait staff was impeccable: professional, helpful, and highly trained. The explanations of the dishes and the cuisine were clear, meticulous, and conveyed great expertise and passion.
The table setting and the style of the venue perfectly complemented the experience: elegant, refined, yet welcoming. An atmosphere that further enhances the food served.
It was a wonderful evening, a top-notch gastronomic experience in every way. We will definitely return, with great pleasure.

Exceptional cuisine in a serene environment. Chef Adriano Dentori is masterful. The true test of a restaurant is its vegetarian dishes since umami and flavors must be coaxed out of the plant kingdom. At Hydra, this is done with remarkable skill and creativity. Unforgettable dishes are the “cappuccino” —Parmesan cream, porcini mushrooms, pumpkin cream—ethereal!—on a delicate bed of almond crisp; and the 5-minute egg sizzled in cornflour and served over cacao crumbles. Worth every penny, a tour de force! You will not regret eating here. (Wine pairings excellent, too.)

An elegant atmosphere, art, and music pave the way for a fantastic evening. The five-course tasting menu was excellent, with a balance of flavors and influences taking shape in dishes that are truly masterpieces. The risotto is definitely worth a visit. Lorenzo was excellent in the dining room, and thanks to his recommendations, we enjoyed an excellent wine. Congratulations!
