Exceptional cuisine in a serene environment. Chef Adriano Dentori is masterful. The true test of a restaurant is its vegetarian dishes since umami and flavors must be coaxed out of the plant kingdom. At Hydra, this is done with remarkable skill and creativity. Unforgettable dishes are the “cappuccino” —Parmesan cream, porcini mushrooms, pumpkin cream—ethereal!—on a delicate bed of almond crisp; and the 5-minute egg sizzled in cornflour and served over cacao crumbles. Worth every penny, a tour de force! You will not regret eating here. (Wine pairings excellent, too.)

Preface: Review left about their coffee/breakfast service
We'd stopped by a few mornings earlier and were peeking through the window. A very kind young employee invited us in, even if just for a quick glance. He captivated us with his manners and professionalism and "convinced" us to return.
We went today, but the young man I mentioned earlier wasn't there.
No big deal, we sat down at the counter and started our order (there were five of us).
We asked what a "cortado" coffee was. This prompted a search among the person behind the counter and the rest of the staff to figure out what it was. A coffee with milk, fine.
We ordered two coffees and three espressos.
With an empty room and five coffees, I expect you won't get confused, but that's not a problem.
Then we ask for a croissant, four flavors in total.
They - "Which flavor do you prefer?"
Me - "Strawberry..."
Them - "We don't have any, we only have cream..."
(Although they ended up bringing me the strawberry one)
Neither the coffee nor the croissant thrilled us.
Then they very politely asked if we wanted more water.
They asked several times.
But in the end, we realized from the receipt that we had to pay for the glasses of water.
No problem, but again... you should have at least written that on your menu.
In short, paying €2.50 for a coffee is no problem; we went there specifically for this experience.
But it wasn't a €2.50 coffee.
It wasn't a service that could "demand" these prices.
Or rather, for these prices, I expect service (and maybe even quality) to match...
The location, on the other hand, is very beautiful.
But next time I want to visit a nice place, I'd rather pay a ticket to a museum... and maybe they'll make me a better coffee at the museum café too ;)

An elegant atmosphere, art, and music pave the way for a fantastic evening. The five-course tasting menu was excellent, with a balance of flavors and influences taking shape in dishes that are truly masterpieces. The risotto is definitely worth a visit. Lorenzo was excellent in the dining room, and thanks to his recommendations, we enjoyed an excellent wine. Congratulations!

I had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant located in Salerno's historic center. The place is very welcoming, clean, and elegant, with a refined table setting and background music that creates the perfect atmosphere. The chef's dishes are excellent, as is the wine list. I also had the opportunity to try the international breakfast the next day, and I must say everything was delicious, both savory and sweet. The owner and staff were all very courteous and professional.

From start to finish, we were accompanied with great professionalism by Antonio, who guided us with passion and expertise on a culinary journey full of surprises and perfectly balanced. Each dish, the fruit of Chef Adriano's mastery, revealed care, technique, and sensitivity, creating harmonious and authentic flavors.
The hospitality of the owner, Marco, created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, helping us feel more than just guests, but part of a shared experience. The dishes, paired by Antonio with carefully selected glasses of natural wine and served with passion by Lorenzo, blended together in an emotional crescendo, bringing our taste buds to a true apotheosis.

For the third time, together with a group of friends, I chose Hydra as the perfect meeting point for those living in Calabria, Sicily, and Friuli. Each time, it's an experience that surprises and warms our hearts. The quality of the food is extraordinary: every dish is meticulously crafted, from the choice of ingredients to the presentation, which is always elegant and inviting. You can sense the passion and dedication in every course.
Michele and Antonio are true guides on this exceptional culinary journey—prepared, attentive, and engaging. Michele, in particular, with every bottle opened, immerses you in the history of the winery's family and its terroir, making you sense the grandeur of what you're about to drink. It's a story that adds value and poetry to every glass.
Antonio, with his discretion and his always gracious manner, surprises us with a blind tasting: a gesture that is not only a demonstration of respect for those sitting at the table, but also a moment of growth, curiosity, and authentic sharing of a passion for wine.
