Hotel Villa Borghi In Varano borghi

I stayed at the Hotel Villa Borghi, a splendid historic 17th century villa immersed in a park overlooking Lake Comabbio. The elegant atmosphere and Art Nouveau architecture make the place suggestive and relaxing. My room was spacious, well furnished and equipped with every comfort, with a large and clean bathroom. I appreciated the tranquility of the structure, the kind staff and the varied breakfast served in the park. I had dinner at the “O' lac” bistro, where I enjoyed quality dishes in a refined environment. I recommend checking whether the chosen room is located in the historic villa, for a more authentic experience, or in the modern annex, equally well-kept but less fascinating.

We stayed one night in a deluxe room in the old part. The historic villa is decidedly suggestive, we booked the room with a view of the park and lake in the distance, beautiful, clean, very comfortable bed and warm temperature, ideal for winter. Helpful, polite and smiling staff. Nice but a little noisy spa reachable from the villa via a tunnel in the basement, a little cold but comfortable. Breakfast assortment could be improved but still varied, the girl on duty was very kind. We had dinner in the nearby restaurant, the cute and characteristic stable. The pretty Lake Comabbio bordered by a beautiful promenade with a cycle path of about 10 km. Experience to repeat in the summer!

I made a clear request, mandatory for our stay, which was ignored. We had to leave the cause of the aforementioned lack and for the refund they tell me I have to send an email. I'm waiting to see how the mix-up is resolved before finishing the review and possibly changing the rating.

We were here over Christmas and New Year's Eve 6 years ago. We really enjoyed it and wanted to celebrate here again. If only we had left it alone. The New Year's Eve menu was subpar this time, I judged the restaurant. We had rooms in the main building for the second time, I can't rate the outbuilding. We didn't use the spa. Breakfast was served in the adjacent building. Coffee is brought by the service, I don't like that type, but the young woman can't help it. On New Year's Eve we had breakfast late and there were hardly any guests. Scrambled eggs were dried out, as was some of the sausage on the edge. It must have been there since 7:30 a.m. The villa is renovated, but not everything. The windows are a bit warped. The furniture looks old. The "chandelier" in the room is plastic. O. K. There are no drinking glasses, only plastic cups, which is not sustainable and doesn't fit the style.

Hotel in a beautiful period villa, large and comfortable room. Spa small but complete with all the main services. Large park, ideal for romantic walks.
