A three-star hotel is a three-star hotel. And you need to be aware of that when choosing one. I rate it very highly in the three-star category because:
1. It's superbly located.
2. Room 811 was very spacious and had a large terrace.
3. It was very clean, and the housekeeping service was excellent and daily (even though it was off-season in October).
4. The service was professional (reception, restaurant).
Period. And if someone arrives with typical "all-inclusive" expectations and has no understanding of the unique culture and attitudes of Sicilians, they'll always find something to complain about.

The glory days are over. The single room can be accessed in two steps. The bathroom entrance is so narrow that some people might have trouble fitting through – it's closed with a folding accordion. Clean, with daily housekeeping.
The upper building is accessible only by stairs – with a heavy suitcase, it's a challenge.
Breakfast is monotonous, the same all week, with a large selection of sweets. For dinner, there are three options to choose from for a starter and a main course. Dessert was a surprise. Everything was delicious and efficiently served. Drinks with dinner are available for an additional fee.
The staff is very helpful. The reception is open 24 hours a day. I speak fluent English and German.
Unfortunately, renovations were taking place in my building at the end of October, so afternoons in the room were not very pleasant.
Internet is ONLY available at the reception and bar. There is no paid Wi-Fi access.

A charming hotel that certainly shows its age. The hotel is old and has long since seen its best days, but it still retains a certain decadent charm.
The property consists of two separate buildings. Guests with limited mobility should avoid staying in the upper building — there are a great many stairs. On the other hand, booking a room in the upper building rewards you with a truly breathtaking view of the sea and the coastline.
The location, right next to the bus stops and the lower station of the funivia (cable car), is excellent. You can choose between an inexpensive bus ride to Taormina’s upper town or a slightly pricier cable car. The area is not recommended for pedestrians: traffic is heavy, and the road shoulders are extremely narrow.
Breakfast at the hotel restaurant is adequate but very Italian. The selection is largely based on sweet pastries, and the only vegetables available are a few small slices of tomato. Nevertheless, everyone is sure to find enough to put together a breakfast to their liking.
The restaurant’s menu is also very Italian. There is nothing wrong with the dishes themselves, but a bit more boldness and imagination from the kitchen would be welcome.
The entire hotel staff perform their duties excellently. The lack of language skills does not hinder communication. The rooms are kept clean, and everything works well — except, perhaps, the occasional light bulb replacement.

I already knew Taormina, so I chose this hotel for its strategic location. The hotel is divided into two different buildings, one of which is reached either by stairs or a steep climb, and once you arrive, there's no elevator to take you to the upper floors. While you'll be greeted kindly at reception, the restaurant depends on where you're coming from. The wait staff, especially the brown-haired gentleman, were only polite to a few people, but very rude to us. Be careful when swearing, as Italians understand them very well and you risk administrative violations.
Breakfast, in my opinion, was well-stocked but could be improved in quality. Dinner, however, is a plus, with its ever-changing selection.
The room was small but clean and had a great view. It's a shame there's no bidet. We're still in Italy, at least we have a bidet!

Clean rooms, good food in the dining room, and you can book excursions from Sicily at reception.
I've been coming here every year since 2012!

This was a lovely hotel with really helpful, friendly staff. I went half board and the food was really good and it only cost me an additional £80 for the week- well worth it if you are on a budget. I am single and felt very happy and safe going everywhere on my own. The hotel is one of he best Ive been to.
Only things to watch is the pool is in a hotel 5 mins walk up the road(this was no problem for me) and the wifi is not great -can only get in the lobby and up on the roof terrace-not in your room.
)overall a brilliant experience X

We were greeted by a very helpful and friendly gentleman at Reception who automatically gave us a map of the area and circled various places of interest. He wrote down times of opening/closing and costs. Unfortunately, we were given a room in a separate part of main Hotel where we had to take the lift to the 5th flr . Come out onto the rooftop walk down a metal staircase and then we were faced with exactly 💯 stairs to climb to our room (each way!!!) Considering our ages my partner being 71 and awaiting a knee replacement. I was a little shocked to say the least. When we got to our (very basic but clean) room, there were no tea/coffee facilities, no mini fridge and the shower was not a walk in one but one where you had to climb into a bath. Which wasn't easy for my partner. When I questioned re: fridge i was told they had been taken out of all the rooms this year!! Not good in 36-38 deg temps
On a plus the views were amazing and all staff friendly and helpful(although no other rooms were available). Struggled and had to plan every day as we were climbing approx. 600 steps per day as well as all the walking we did
