Hotel Ristorante Calamosca In Cagliari

We entered the Hotel Calamosca on a summer day—I don't remember which—in 1996, and we've returned every year since. This little corner of Cagliari has entered our minds and hearts, renewing our desire to return, right up to today, September 2025. But if the beauty of the place isn't enough, we must and want to mention the people who have always welcomed us there: the owners and their staff, the helpful, courteous, and consequently friendly staff. Excellent location for the beach, right next to the hotel and they provide umbrellas and chairs, good views and a nice atmosphere. Don't expect much from the included breakfast.

A little dated, but still very well-maintained and, above all, clean hotel. The people are super friendly and accommodating.

Posto un po' nascosto ma una volta raggiunta la terrazza ti immergi in una vista mozzafiato del mare e del faro; servizio impeccabile: personale gentile e prenoto. Del cibo non parliamone nemmeno tutto veramente buono, iniziando dagli antipasti fino ai dolci.

Lovely location with sea views. The hotel needs renovations, especially the rooms and bathrooms. An in-room mini-fridge would be helpful. Friendly staff. Price is not justified.

Close to the beach but far from everywhere, access by bus is not easy

Hotel from another era, the internal rooms (view of the Sella del Diavolo hiking trails) are a bit sparse (they use upside-down plywood shelves for bedside tables), the electrical system is a bit dated (damaged electrical sockets that could not hold the weight of an Apple power supply), despite this the position is strategic (Calamosca beach on one side, Sella del Diavolo on the other), it also has an internal garden with the possibility of deckchairs, umbrellas and direct access to the sea (from the rocks).

When you arrive in Calamosca it is like taking an immediate restorative and antidepressant therapy The location is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen: a vintage hotel from the 50s, white and yellow, well restored, directly on the enchanting bay of Calamosca, between red rocks and crystalline Caribbean sea. Right there, ABOVE the sea. And then everything else…The rooms overlooking the body of water that in the morning is as still as a lake. The others that look at the Sella del Diavolo with its scented Mediterranean vegetation and its golden yellow rocks and where you can go on excursions on foot to have a privileged view of the city of Cagliari. The peace that reigns here, at the end of the world, among the centuries-old maritime pines that frame the beach that can be accessed directly from the rooms. The staff, very kind and warm that makes you feel part of the family and of the wonderful Sardinian land. Miriam who remembers how you drink your cappuccino in the morning sitting on the terrace that touches the sea. Andrea who takes care of everything and is always in a good mood. Franco who hugs you when you leave (and you almost cry). All the staff who treat your dog as if it were their own. The hotel officially has three stars because it does not have the services of a large hotel: the elevator (as a historic building very difficult to install), the conference room. Those who complain about these shortcomings do not know how to enjoy beauty. But I assure you that it has more than five real stars: try staying there and you will realize!

I stayed in this charming hotel with a unique location on the sea. Its vintage 60s style is very charming and unique, the staff is extremely friendly, kind and professional, the rooms are clean and comfortable and are being renovated, breakfast included in the price with excellent coffee and a buffet with various sweet and savory products, excellent cakes that Cecilia, the manager of the structure, prepares every day with genuine products, care and love. A hotel to recommend, we will gladly return.
