On vacation in the Viterbo area, we chose to stay at the Hotel Bagnaia because, reading reviews on a couple of websites, two factors convinced us: first, the fact that many highlighted the kindness of the owners; second, its proximity to one of the destinations on our tour, Villa Lante, a villa with an Italian garden, wonderful fountains, and a large adjacent park that's worth the trip.
It's true that the furniture in the rooms is a bit dated, and, as far as we've noticed, there's no elevator. But we liked it. The room had everything we needed: a bathroom with a shower, air conditioning, a TV (though it wasn't a smart model, but that doesn't matter), and a bed that, while initially not particularly comfortable because it was high and a bit hard, was actually very comfortable, and we had no trouble falling asleep.
I confirm what we'd read about the owners: our host's father was affable, hospitable, and friendly, and his daughter was equally courteous, precise, and professional.
The internal parking lot is small, but you can leave your car along the nearby roads or, if you prefer, in the main parking lot. Bagnaia is a small town, and getting around on foot is both feasible and practical.
Regarding our choice of Bagnaia as a place to stay, there's literally everything near the hotel: an excellent bakery, a supermarket, several bars, and several shops. Plus, thanks to the beautiful day, there was plenty of activity. We loved this little town, both for its hospitality and its lively atmosphere. And, most importantly, it's home to Villa Lante, a true treasure trove of art and nature.

The hotel's location is perfect for visiting Viterbo and Bagnaia itself, with its stunning village. The hotel itself could use some updating, but the owner's friendliness and courtesy are truly priceless; we had a great time.
