Our stay at the Hotel Petrarca in Montegrotto was overall positive, but there were some issues that, for a four-star establishment, cannot be ignored.
Rooms
We stayed in a suite, which was very beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. However, there was also a significant flaw: the complete absence of glassware, replaced exclusively with paper cups. For a hotel of this caliber, one would definitely expect greater attention to detail.
Pools and Pool Bar
The worst part of the experience.
The pool bar was absolutely inadequate, both in terms of service and quality: paper cups were used, and aperitifs were served with a simple glass of wine and a bag of chips only upon request. A real shame, as it ruined the relaxing experience.
Furthermore, the behavior of some of the staff was rude and unacceptable. In particular, an older gentleman (named Ottavio, if I'm not mistaken) was extremely rude, even suggesting we change hotels if something wasn't to our liking. This was completely inappropriate.
Restaurant / Dining Room
During the holidays, the service was excellent, friendly, and well-organized.
Unfortunately, over the last two days, the service level has drastically deteriorated: one waiter (with curly hair) was rushed, unwilling to listen, and served without considering the guest's requests. The experience was so bad that we decided to give up eating at the hotel and go out.
Housekeeping
The room service staff does their job discreetly, but without any particular attention: 3 stars.
Reception
An absolutely positive note.
The reception staff deserves a full 5 stars: friendly, hospitable, professional, and always attentive to the guest's needs. Truly impeccable.
Conclusion
A property with great potential and very nice rooms, but the pool bar and some staff services are not up to the standard of a four-star hotel. With greater attention to detail (such as eliminating paper cups) and better staff selection/training, the experience could be significantly improved.
Thanks, overall, a pleasant stay.

Only spa, honest place to spend a relaxing day, simple but nice, a bit vintage for nostalgics

My warmest compliments go to the dining room staff, all friendly and helpful. The food is good.
The pools are indeed overcrowded with outside guests...and there's a risk of overcrowding...the rooms are dated. Even the mud rooms are old.

I had a day pass...
A full day at the spa to pamper and rejuvenate yourself. You have access to 7/8 indoor/outdoor pools, a sauna, a steam bath, and a Kneipp path.
Costs depend on the day and time; you can also access in the evening from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm.
On Sundays, the fee is €40 per person.
They recommend arriving before 9:00 am. You must first buy a ticket at the hotel, and then a man will check your payment outside the pool entrance and show you where to park.
There's a bar inside the pools where you can grab a quick bite to eat. You can also choose to have lunch at the hotel for an extra fee.
I recommend it as a location.
Thanks also to the lifeguards, who are very attentive to people's behavior... WELL DONE!

I would have easily given 4 or 5 stars because the reception staff, not the hotel staff, are truly kind, helpful, and courteous. The rooms are new, well-maintained, and well-equipped. We booked a nature suite, which even had two balconies and room for all four of us. The food was good and well-cooked. The pools were pleasant and large. The only flaw was that the equipment (massage beds and the like) wasn't on demand; you had to wait for them to recharge on their own... which was a bit inconvenient. What lowered the review was the poor management of the pool bar. It didn't even feel like you were at the Petrarca. They were rude and completely incapable of serving an aperitif... and expensive... We drank a glass of white wine and a can of Coke (note: the wine was in a plastic cup), and they didn't give us an olive or an appetizer. And when we asked, they were rude and told us to go elsewhere. Now, a hotel is also about the services it offers, and I know that a hotel that has everything it needs to be 5 stars is penalized for the poor management of its pool bar. We've stayed in several hotels in Montegrotto Terme (Terme Preistoriche, Continental, Terme delle Nazioni, and Tergesteo), but we've never encountered such terrible service at any pool! Yet, I Petrarca has all the credentials to be even better than the others... we're sorry.

I didn't stay at the hotel but celebrated New Year's Eve with friends. For the New Year's Eve dinner, I expected a little more entertainment. The pools were too crowded. The party was held in the lobby, with doors constantly opening, letting in cold air. The interior was dated, the pools were nice, the hot tubs were slow... the dinner was excellent, but the waiters were very chaotic, and overall, I wouldn't return.

We only entered the thermal pool, I found it quite large given the numerous sunbeds available, as regards the water I felt the presence of too much chlorine.
