I rarely write reviews—good or bad—as I’ve always felt that my single experience may not reflect an establishment as a whole. But after spending three wonderful nights at Hotel Locarno with my wife and 3-year-old son, I feel certain that what we experienced is not unique to us, but the true spirit of this hotel. To begin with, the property itself is stunning. The rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed, the breakfast was delicious and satisfying for all of us (including our little one), and the evening aperitivi were always a delight. Every aspect of the amenities and atmosphere was exceptional. Then there is the location - to us, the location could not be beat. What truly set Hotel Locarno apart, however, was the people. From the playful and warm Davide, to the kind and gracious Maurizio, to the cheerful and informative Ricardo—every single person we met radiated genuine care and kindness. The professionalism, warmth, and personal attention we received were unlike anything we’ve experienced in other hotels, whether in the US or abroad. Traveling with a lively 3-year-old can sometimes be a challenge, yet the staff treated him with patience, joy, and understanding. It’s one thing to extend kindness to adults who know the unspoken etiquette of a place, but to welcome a young child with such generosity and grace is something truly rare—and deeply appreciated. We will absolutely be returning to Hotel Locarno and hope to make it our home base for longer stays in the future. Until then, we will fondly remember this beautiful hotel and the remarkable people who made our time there so special.

This is a great little gem of a hotel for you to consider when staying in Rome. It's celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, so expect the quirky charm of an older establishment. The staff is attentive and courteous, and English isn't a problem if your Italian isn't up to par. Our corner room was large, as well as the bathroom. The claw foot tub was cool, but it made the shower less than luxurious (and a lot of water on the floor). Charming bar/restaurant seating area with a retractable roof. Located a few blocks from the Spanish Steps.

We an absolutely wonderful experience at Hotel Locarno. The service was beyond our expectations (which were already high), the food fantastic, and the atmosphere truly a not to miss experience. They were so kind and considerate of our plans and needs - ensuring we had a magical and relaxed experience in Rome. We will be returning on our next trip!

A truly beautiful hotel, with well-kept and welcoming spaces. The staff who welcomed us were very polite and helpful, always ready to accommodate our every need. The location is truly excellent, perfect for getting around and exploring the area. We enjoyed an aperitif and tried one of the many cocktails offered by the bar: everything was truly delicious, carefully prepared and served professionally. A very pleasant experience that I highly recommend to anyone wishing to stay here.

Hotel Locarno was an absolute gem during our stay in Rome. From check in to check out we were taken care of by the attentive, accommodating, and kind hearted staff. The location was the perfect balance of close and walkable to the different sights while still being in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was beautiful and classic and cozy. Our highlight was definitely Bar Locarno and the bright, airy, and breathtaking terrace in which service was provided. We enjoyed plated breakfast in the morning, spritzes and snacks in the afternoon, and cocktails in the evening. Breakfast was fantastic, everything we tried was delicious and beautifully plated. The servers were lovely. If we didn’t already have dinner plans during our stay we would have eaten every meal there! We would recommend staying at the hotel or at least grabbing a drink or a meal at Bar Locarno if you’re in Rome.

I already knew it but I returned there and always found a super welcome, I highly recommend it for those like me who want to stay in peace and not a hotel like the others while maintaining the quality of the 5 stars.

Excellent stay, very good breakfast, very friendly staff, impeccable service

On the occasion of a birthday I had the pleasure of knowing Hotel Locarno. We were on the terrace on the sixth floor where we tasted some very special cocktails and they brought us some really excellent finger food, all with a beautiful view of Rome. The staff was always friendly and kind throughout the evening. I highly recommend it!!

Abbiamo festeggiato un’occasione importante all’Hotel Locarno. Sia la preparazione dell’evento che l’evento stesso sono stati gestiti in modo impeccabile. Abbiamo apprezzato tutto: il cibo, i cocktail, il servizio, la terrazza riservataci per ricevere i nostri ospiti. Soddisfattissimi.

Con mio marito abbiamo festeggiato qua il nostro anniversario, la saletta era intima e accogliente. La qualità del cibo è davvero eccezionale e hanno anche un'ottima scelta di vini! Torneremo sicuramente!
