Il Posticino In Cortina d'ampezzo

My review isn't about the elegant Hotel de la Poste, but rather its bar. One Sunday we were in Cortina and wanted to grab a drink. The hotel has tables near the front door. My companion uses a wheelchair, and the entrance to the tables has several steps, not a ramp. A kind waitress invited us to enter through the side entrance on Corso Italia. We sat at a table overlooking the square from a large window. I'm very grateful for the waitress's kindness, but I was a bit perplexed by the price of the drink, which made me realize that Cortina isn't a place for modest people. A slice of cake, cappuccino, and spritz totaled €27. The Winter Olympics were over, the Paralympics were about to begin. Could this have inflated prices?

This is a charming, traditional hotel. The room was not fancy, but it was comfortable. The real star is the concierge, Lorenzo, who bends over backwards to give guests a good experience.

You can’t get a better location. If you are taking the Cortina express it stops right out front. The rooms are clean and fresh. The staff is great and the bar was fun.
