Best experience in Tuscany. Unforgettable! Magical view!

It was a long time ago. It was AMAZING!! MAGNIFICENT architecture, comfort, aura of the place... Breakfast in a beautiful room under the fragrant smoke of the fireplace, while the night frost is disappearing around... If only this could be repeated...

The rooms and service are perfect. The owner seems to have a great sense of aesthetics. There are many Instagrammable points. I think it would be better to go in the summer. I want to go again..😊

Our family if 4 Recently stayed at Certosa di Maggiano from Dec 31 to Jan 03 and absolutely fell in love with the place. We’ve started visiting Europe during the off season the past 6 years over the winter holidays except of course 2020-2021 in order to avoid crowds and/or ski. I only mention this because the hotel must be truly magical during the summer months. We had two rooms, a more recently updated deluxe room and nearby junior suite that hasn’t yet been updated. To be honest when we first arrived we felt a little underwhelmed primarily due to the rave reviews, most of them from the summer and our junior suite wasn’t exactly what we had imagined. We weren’t looking to change rooms but commented to the amazing manager Cristiano Brizzi that our room was incredibly warm and stuffy even with windows open and he explained that the rooms in that section of the hotel are very difficult to maintain consistent and comfortable temperatures in the winter due to layout and location of boiler underneath. He offered to move us to a different room without us even asking and this second room was absolutely lovely and exactly what we had imagined. The staff is absolutely authentic, warm and welcoming starting with Cristiano and literally every staff member we interacted with. We literally looked forward to retuning to the hotel each evening to see these friendly and familiar faces. They did an amazing job for the New Year’s Eve dinner and party that lasted from 7:30pm until 01:00 that was perfectly choreographed without feeling pushy or contrived . We’ve now spent 5 of the last 6 New Years Eves traveling in Europe and each one has been different and special in there own unique way, with this one being very memorable and special. I don’t think all luxury level travelers may love this hotel, especially those who require a specific level of modern luxury. But, I do think anyone who wants to experience a quickly, quaint and heartfelt experience will really enjoy this place and its wonderful staff. In reading the reviews before we booked , they had one of the most honest, humble and authentic responses to a complaint that I’ve ever seen from a hotel and it perfectly sums up the management and their approach. I assume it was written by the manager Cristiano or one of the owners but it really impressed us. Cristiano and staff gave us perfect restaurant recommendations and reservations. They knew exactly what we were looking for after spending several nights previously in Florence and after the New Years Eve feast. This hotel , owners and manager just get it for guests who are looking to stay in a hotel like this. They don’t want to be everything to everyone but are creating a unique hotel experience that most guests will love.

The best, most interesting hotel we’ve ever stayed in. Incredible design and the staff were great. Very cosy in winter and hope to be back in summer!

Wonderful period hotel located inside an old monastery dating back to 1316, renovated and used as a luxury hotel with a splendid church still functioning. I spent a wonderful week with my wife and I highly recommend it for visiting Siena.

Certosa di Maggiano is pure magic. It’s not just a hotel—it’s a feeling. The best in Tuscany, hands down. The owners, the manager, the staff—they’re like family, so caring and present. Everything is perfection—the elegant decor, the delicious food, the cozy breakfast room with that old wood-fire oven. The wines, the cocktails—absolute heaven. Every detail feels personal and full of soul. Warm, beautiful, unforgettable. It’s our little slice of winter paradise, and we’ll be back every year. If you’re lucky enough to go, you’ll never want to leave.

Amazing boutique hotel in a former monastery. Incredible decor, different in every room. Lovely communal areas, so comfortable. Great breakfast. Staff amazingly accommodating.

The hotel has been thought out down to the smallest detail, every corner is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they made suggestions about places to visit, things to pay attention to, activities, etc. Thanks. We stayed for a very short time, but when I come to Italy again, I will stay longer. The breakfast room was very nice. The common area and garden are a corner of heaven.
