He also has many moving stories to share. And yes - the bed really is an American-size king bed. With daily housekeeping, you may start to feel like a queen. The second extra star is for the breathtaking view from the window and the perfect location, especially for those who come not only to visit Assisi, but also to pray. It’s a quieter area, close to the Monastero di Santa Chiara, with its beautifully sung Lauds and Vespers, and only a ten-minute walk from San Damiano. It is also near Porta Nuova, with bus stops for the Eremo delle Carceri, Santa Maria degli Angeli, and the railway station. And just around the corner there is a very well-stocked supermarket with local food and wine. The third extra star is for something harder to explain, but easy to feel: the image of Jesus, I trust in You — the Merciful Jesus — on the wall. And somehow it matches the spirit of this place. Nothing feels fake here. You really can trust it… and make the most of your stay in Assisi.
