Roman tavern with traditional family-run cuisine. A beautiful and welcoming location, perfectly rustic, with a bright and relaxing atmosphere.
The dishes are carefully prepared and presented in generous portions, with few frills—it's practically like eating at grandma's house.
The Supplì is a 10/10, super crispy breading, very moist and flavorful on the inside, with plenty of ragù and mozzarella al telefono. The size is also top-notch, satisfying just looking at it 😲.
The Pacchero with pajata is delicious, a dish you simply have to mop up with breadcrumbs, a dish that's almost impossible to find in Rome these days. When you find the "lucky pacchero" hiding a knot of pajata inside... it's pure poetry. Many, many compliments, guys 👍👍👍👏.
The Tonnarello cacio&pepe is also excellent, and of course, you must try their legendary Carbonara, which has won numerous awards.
For the main courses, the oxtail stew was delicious and rustic, with chunks of carrot and celery prominently displayed. It's a shame they didn't add dark chocolate, pine nuts, and raisins, which I personally adore, but it's a matter of personal preference and probably this is how the recipe handed down in the Sellero family is done, and it's right to respect tradition for these historic dishes.
The roast lamb with potatoes also holds its own, a delicious dish 😉.
To finish on a sweet note, the wild berry millefeuille and the fresh and delicious amaretto semifreddo 😋.
The service is precise and super fast; the girl in the dining room is always polite, friendly, and helpful.
Sellero & Ventresca Due has become a trusted name when it comes to traditional Roman fare, without all the "modern frills," and with very fair prices (excellent value for money).
Congratulations to all the staff, you carry on the Roman tradition with commitment and passion, keep it up guys 👍👏👏👏

We arrive at the restaurant just before lunchtime. The place is meticulously maintained, very clean, and even warm, despite its size and the early chill. We have a quick and simple meal. We order just one appetizer, scamorza and prosciutto, which I really enjoyed. A carbonara, a chicken cacciatore, and two side dishes. Everything is good, but I have a complaint about the chicken. Cacciatore is usually made with sautéed vegetables, but here the chicken is served with a somewhat heavy sauce, probably a reinterpretation of the classic soffritto. I was expecting something different.
In any case, if I were in the area again, I would definitely return to this restaurant!
The price was normal, €57 for two.
