We had ciccheties at a few places in Venice, and this was by far the best. It was both tasty and felt authentic and unmarred by the flooding of tourists. The prosciutto was also wonderful.

I'm a tour guide, always looking for places to enjoy a good time, eat, and drink well, and to guide my clients.
On Sunday, September 14, 2025, I visited this osteria at the suggestion of a friend.
I called because lunchtime was approaching and I wanted to secure a table.
The host kindly told me he didn't accept reservations.
I soon understood why: I discovered a charming place with only three tables along a very quiet canal (despite being just steps from the station)... and a few seats inside.
I arrived and, while I was choosing my food, a couple sat at the table I had requested, without introducing themselves to the host or asking for a table.
He, firm but kind, reiterated to the couple that the table was for me and my son.
I chose some delicious pickles:
- Sardine in saour (onions, raisins, and vibagrettes)
- Prosciutto, Brie, and pistachio
- Capocollo with confit onions and Parmesan
- Blue cheese and salted dark chocolate
Recommended by some neighbors, we finally ordered polenta with creamed cod.
Everything was delicious.
Note: The salted dark chocolate was fabulous!
I ordered a glass of fruity wine, delicate and with fresh citrus notes.
The restaurant offers quality cured meats, cheeses, and wines at reasonable prices.

me and my friend visited this place twice. both times we had delicious and diverse food and also the best wine in town. Nick was great and we can’t wait to come back!

I happened to walk in and the atmosphere was nice and friendly. I had a Select Spritz and it was delicious. It was better than Aperol mixed with wine. They say it's a drink mixed with wine, so I recommend trying it at least once. They also had cicchetti, and the truffle one was delicious. It was a quick drink and came out refreshing. It was a pleasant experience.

the best in Venice. I often go there for lunch for work. Refined pairings, wine and beer recommended by an expert owner. Small but beautiful. It would be a shame not to stop even for a moment for a taste.

I'm having a real dilemma with this restaurant, and it's been bothering me all day. I really want to emphasize how great this restaurant is. I was planning a quick bite to eat with my daughter before a long trip back home, and luckily I saw this restaurant opening as soon as I left the hotel. It was obvious from the outside what the place's intentions were, and that's what drew me in. And indeed, when we ended up eating there an hour later, it exceeded all expectations and gave us the only authentic moment in Venice, avoiding everything the city currently represents: having to kowtow to tourists. Vecio Biavarol is everything people wish for when they say the famous phrase, "I want something authentic that tourists don't go to." Now, the magic is that tourists don't seem to be flocking to it, at least. But here comes my dilemma and conflict, because by explaining all this, I'm promoting Vecio Biavarol, and that's not what I want. But I also know that if there's a restaurant in Venice that deserves it, it's this one. Without a doubt, a little gem trapped in the real Venice.
