Sonia is an institution. Here you can taste real Chinese cuisine. It's an experience for the palate every time we come. The place is large, with large rooms and other private ones for those who want to feel more comfortable. We took all the ravioli that were on the menu (we didn't take a photo of some because they were too good) they were Cque: ravioli with vegetables, pork, grilled ravioli. Steamed spring rolls a real lust. And what can I say, their sauces are excellent! We also took some Cantonese rice which has a different flavor from the usual Chinese restaurants. Even though it is a simple dish, it is clear that there is careful cooking behind it. Also worth trying is the very light and crunchy fried ice cream, and finally the Mochi. The staff is always kind and available to illustrate all the dishes of their culture.

Probably the most famous Chinese restaurant in Rome, the place is plastered with photos of owner Sonia with celebrities through the ages. The place is a whole vibe with red lanterns outside. It's large inside with lots of seating options and private dining rooms for special events. Food wise it's ok, pretty standard Chinese food which is adapted to the Italian palate (not spicy) and single-serving portions (not family style platters). We had the deep fried spring rolls (vegetable option only), Cantonese fried rice, chicken and eggplant in oyster sauce (way over sauced and gluey), pan-fried noodles on a hot plate with beef and vegetable (meh), steamed dumplings with shrimp (meh), pan fried dumplings with meat (meh), and pork with vegetables and little pancake wrappers (like Peking duck). I can't say it was very memorable. The location is an easy 5 minute walk from stazione Vittorio Emanuele.

I went on Sunday evening with my partner and her sister. We enjoyed delicious spring rolls, almond fried chicken, Cantonese rice, fried noodles with soy sauce and other Chinese delicacies. I was very satisfied with the fast and kind service, in a lively but not confusing context. I understand why it is frequented by the Roman jet set. The value for money is very good. I recommend the restaurant to anyone who happens to be passing through Rome.
