Hang Zhou In Roma

Had an amazing dining in experience here. The food was delicious and amazingly done, definitely a top restaurant in Rome. The space is cozy and we got to be seated in a private dining room that offered us a chance to zone out noise from the other diners when we wished to. Staff was super friendly and accommodating, they were conversant in both Italian and English so my little bit of Italian wasn't such an in issue to be able to communicate. The food came in time and piping hot and fresh. We got to meet Sonia at the end as well and that was a highlight of the evening since we'd been talking about her from the vast photo compilation on the walls. Pretty impressive and I highly recommend 👌

Unquestionably the best Chinese restaurant in Rome, you pay tad more but well worth it!!! When you're done, cross the street and get yourself some of the best gelato at Gelateria Fassi, Palazzo del Freddo.

Very friendly service and, above all, quick preparation despite the large restaurant and the large crowd. And for that, the food is also worth it. Everything was delicious, especially the grilled spaghetti! Very affordable.

Sonia has always been the Chinese restaurant in Rome

The Hang Zhou beef was my favorite and is a must have! Super tender! The bok choy and black bean tofu were very flavorful as well. Hot and sour soup and tofu soup did not disappoint either. The chicken dumplings were superb. Kuya Andre my kababayan was very welcoming!

I've been frequenting Sonia's restaurant for many years. My cousin Danilo Moncada introduced me to her and her restaurant... and it was a real revelation. Sonia is incredibly friendly, the dishes are excellently prepared, including Asian, Cantonese, and Szechuan cuisine, and the service is very attentive. The photos on the walls are unique and even amusing, portraying various people who frequent or have frequented Hang Zhou: actors, entertainers, politicians, journalists, and more. If you want to experience excellent Chinese cuisine in a Roman setting, this is the place. It's located on the Esquiline Hill, the highest of Rome's famous seven hills, right in the heart of Rome and near the Palazzo del Ghiaccio, a historic venue for gelato. Sonia and her staff are fun and attentive, and the setting is perfect, complementing the exquisite dishes. Reservations are possible for areas that are generally reserved for groups.
