Focaccia costs 7, prices are average, and the location is beautiful, being close to the sea and with a space for walking. What I'm not happy with is the excessive crowds and the barely adequate service.

The place was very crowded with slow table service. Otherwise, everything was fine.

The pizza and arancini were delicious, but I would say the staff were very rude and impolite, especially since having booked a table, being treated badly even if you don't, taking reservations and making people wait makes no sense!

As far as I'm concerned, this is the best focaccia, pitoni and arancini I've eaten so far in Messina.

This is a place in Messina where you can still find the traditional focaccia and pizzas

The restaurant is in a truly beautiful and evocative location.
Although we waited a bit for the menu, we had a great time and ate excellent focaccia.

Historic focacceria in Messina, but something has changed, perhaps the management... Arancini pitoni, fried appetizers, are as good as ever... but the Messina focaccia, unfortunately, has changed, it's no longer topped like it used to be, the anchovies are hard to find, even the toppings, and the dough is totally different, no longer crumbly on the outside and soft on the inside, unfortunately... I was a little disappointed 🥲. However, it's very very busy, I recommend booking, otherwise there's a bit of a wait for a table. The service, however, is fast, kind, and very helpful... the traditional pitoni are delicious. I recommend them 😉

Honestly, I had to change my mind. It didn't start out very well. The day before, I had gone to make a reservation for a table of 12 people. It was Saturday, and the girl at the cash register was rude. That's a compliment! Instead, we found the staff, though small for the number of people, very kind and helpful. The pizza was good, with crispy and well-cooked dough. The gluten-free one was also good. The traditional focaccia was decent, but the capricciosa was a little less so. The only major flaw was the poor-quality cheese. It looks like a rava. The one with speck and burrata, however, was excellent. Service was a bit slow; we waited over an hour for the focaccia. The pizzas, however, arrived 15 minutes after ordering. Prices were average.

Without saying a word, I paid €50 for about 4 kg of Messina focaccia. If last year's menu is still valid, the traditional one should have cost €10 per kg, so I shouldn't have paid more than €40. But since they thought they'd found chicken, they played the classic three-card monte. They were happy, but I'll never stop by again. Not to mention their smug and rather confusing attitude.
