Here you'll find history (the chef was a former jockey at L'Oca), exquisite food, stellar service (you immediately feel at home), and also a lot of honesty (they gave us a very large and unexpected discount). Highly recommended!

Grotta Santa Caterina da Bagoga is a charming local restaurant with excellent, attentive yet relaxed service. After trying to get in without a reservation, which I couldn't manage, I finally booked and enjoyed a very good local meal. The simplicity, decor, and understated elegance are truly appreciated. Highly recommended.

Excelent restaurant. The pasta was absolutely delicious! Best gnocchis ever! Great staff, very friendly :) The ambience was really nice and cosy.

We tried this restaurant thanks to a recommendation from the host where we were staying. The location is nice, and the price was reasonable for Siena. Short wait times and fast service.
The Fiorentina steak, €7/100 grams, was good, although it was too cold inside, as if it had been quickly cooked on the outside and taken out of the refrigerator shortly beforehand.
The price was fair, €80 for two side dishes, water, and a 1kg Fiorentina steak.

We discovered this wonderful restaurant thanks to our host's recommendation. We had dinner there last night, and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to return again this evening. Even though it was Saturday and the restaurant was fully booked, the owner, Francesco, managed to find us a table.
Excellent food, extremely friendly and helpful staff.
All the more reason to return to visit this splendid city.
Thank you for your hospitality and congratulations again.

Siena embraces you and never leaves you....and neither do its taverns!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 At Bagoga, served and revered, we immerse ourselves in the typical local product, and if it's true that we Sardinians are invincible with pecorino...well, when it comes to the cuts of meat, boiled meat, and the varieties of pasta in every sauce, they literally send us home.
A truly surprising surprise of taste and flavors.
A very accommodating and understanding owner, and so very kind💓, thank you.
What more can I say? We were at home, I saw Siena again after 25 years and I don't think I've ever completely left it.
From Sardinia, we wish you a wonderful 2026, two Sardinians and 2 Chihuahuas.
