Grand Hotel Des Iles Borromees In Stresa

A wonderful place for its history and international culture. It was the "precursor" of what is now known as the United Nations. I recommend visiting in the summer. It may be closed during the winter months.

The state-of-the-art spa is amazing. The floating spa is a fun experience if you make a reservation. The hotel itself is gorgeous and a pleasant stroll. The private garden in front is also beautiful to explore. The hotel rooms are small, but the sheets are clean, and the breakfast is decorated in a lovely way.

I'm a huge fan of luxury hotels, and having had the pleasure of staying in many, I approach each new property with a trained eye. This hotel in Stresa undoubtedly offers a remarkable luxury base and many excellent features, but I noticed some details that, to achieve the excellence expected of this category, require attention. In my opinion, the wellness area and the spa staff were fabulous. Special praise goes to the massage therapists, absolutely exceptional in their professionalism, skill, and kindness. Despite the overall high standard, some details did not live up to the rating: • In-Room Amenities: The bathroom amenities provided did not meet the level expected of a hotel of this caliber. • Breakfast Service: Having only enjoyed breakfast (I cannot comment on lunch and dinner), I found the variety of offerings limited. For example, the lack of a show-cooking corner for freshly preparing dishes like pancakes, and a general selection of food that could be significantly expanded to compete with the best five-star hotels.

Historic hotel in Stresa. Inside, it feels like being on the Titanic. Beautiful lake view room with all the necessary amenities. Beautiful new spa. Very friendly staff and a top-notch breakfast. A few small touches would make this hotel perfect!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A splendid place, with some details that could be improved The Grand Hotel des Iles Borromées is truly a dream place: elegance, history, and a magical atmosphere that is felt from the first step inside. The spaces are well-maintained, refined, and rich in details that hark back to the Belle Époque era. A feast for the eyes! The spa is incredible: spacious, impeccable, with a wide variety of treatments and facilities. An oasis of relaxation where you can truly unwind. The staff, in every department, is extremely kind and professional. A few details, however, could be improved. In the room, for example, I found a beautiful Murano glass chandelier that added a touch of class... but it clashed with the four ultramodern spotlights above the headboard (two per person), which were rather distracting. I would have preferred two bedside lamps with softer lighting, in keeping with the elegant style of the room. Despite the extremely high quality of the spa, a small refreshment area was missing: a simple glass of juice or a mini snack (even just a small bag of dried fruit, as found in many spas) would have really made a difference. Nothing expensive, just a little extra attention to guests during their breaks. That said, the stay was exceptional. The location on Lake Maggiore is spectacular, the gardens are wonderful, and the atmosphere is unique. A hotel that will remain in my heart and where I would gladly return!

The beauty and glamor of this hotel is only surpassed by the immaculate service and attention to detail. The spa is awesome, the location is perfect, we would love to come back!

A truly beautiful establishment! Of course, you have to appreciate the Art Nouveau style. The corridors of this impressive hotel, whose origins date back to the 1860s, are veritable exhibition halls! The staff is incredibly attentive; thank you to the concierge for his excellent advice. The breakfast was superb... well done!
